What's Your Reaction?

If only my chemistry teacher used cupcakes to teach me the periodic table perhaps I'd know the chemical behavior of Boron. Then again, my knowledge would be limited to "it's delicious." Which it is. (Via Neatorama)

Last week, we had the golden retrievers demonstrating how electrons moved within an atom, and now we have this very yummy-looking periodic table of the elements. Science is fun again!

University of Maryland, Baltimore County did this first! We made a periodic table of the cupcakes to promote National Chemistry week in conjunction with American Chemical Society.

it looks delicious, except if the cupcakes also possessed the properties of the elements they represent...i'm talking about you, arsenic.

I don't trust this science stuff. Those cupcakes safe? Who knows what'll happen if you eat one?

Become more noble if you eat the one marked XE or NE?

XE is more noble than NE, you can find NE hanging out at every two bit bar in the country.

This would be the best way to teach Homer Simpson chemistry...if he didn't eat it first.

Ahhh, ok. At first glance it looks like there are crumbs there.

I wonder when they will get that stuff synthesized so we can put a real cupcake in there?

I love learning new stuff everyday! Thanks!

It would have looked better on a dark background rather than the newspaper, but cool anyway.

I wonder if my honey loves me enough to do that for me. It'd look nice with the periodic table of elements shower curtain we have. :)

Cheers
