Dr. Anne Dranitsaris: Oprah's New Doctor Project?

The New York Post's Page Six reports that Oprah has found a new doctor protege: Dr. Anne Dranitsaris, a Toronto-based psychotherapist who has written for O Magazine.

"Insiders say that Winfrey has chosen to mentor Dranitsaris in the same way she helped shape the careers of Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz," Page Six reports.

Who is Dr. Dranitsaris?

She describes herself on her website as "a clinical psychotherapist and behavioral change consultant with more than 30 years experience in the field of personal and professional growth and development."

She wrote a "Who Are You Meant to Be Quiz?" for the November issue of O and is slated to write an article about "how women can analyze their strengths and weaknesses to guide their careers and love lives in 2010" for the January issue, according to Page Six.

Dr. Dranitsaris integrates "alternative forms of healing and spiritual study" with more traditional theory and disciplines.

"I approach each individual from a holistic, psycho-educational perspective," she writes on her website. "My therapeutic approach includes looking at thoughts, feelings, beliefs and behaviors; finding patterns of behaviour that are limiting to the individual and providing tools for developing greater insight and awareness, and for changing and adapting to new behaviours. I work with each client to develop goals for therapy, and to work through the barriers that come up on the road to greater self-awareness and the actualization of their potential."
