111 Million Americans Plan To Give To Charities Online This Year

Charitable donations for this holiday season could exceed $4 billion, a new survey says. The survey, published by fundraising software company Convio and Forrester Research reports that the internet is the giving mode of choice for the more than 111 million adults in the U.S. who plan to donate to a cause this year.

Additionally, according to an American Red Cross survey, 90 percent of Americans plan to give to charities this holiday season and 40 percent have asked others to donate to a nonprofit instead of purchasing them a gift. Of Americans planning to give, half of those plan to give a gift in excess of $50.
