Chris Brown 'Really Hurting Inside' (VIDEO)

First Posted: 03/18/10 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 03:50 PM ET

Last month Rihanna told Diane Sawyer about getting beaten by Chris Brown in February, and now it's Brown's turn to sit down with ABC. 'Good Morning America' aired a preview of his '20/20' interview with Robin Roberts.

"I never ever had problems with anger. No, no domestic violence with any of my past girlfriends," Brown said. "I never was that kind of person. I look at it, and it's really, like really difficult. It's like, 'How could I be that person?'"

Roberts shows Brown a clip of Rihanna describing how he had "no soul in his eyes" while beating her and questions the sincerity of his remorse.

"People see me smiling and kind of nonchalantly giving answers," Brown said. "I'm like, really hurting inside. It's like, really devastating for me."

Brown's full interview will air on ABC's '20/20' Friday at 10 pm.

Many on here are going on and on that he is remorseful, well maybe he is but his mannerisms and the look on his face truly do not show it so that makes it hard for people to believe it. Frankly he does not look sincere to me. His main concerns are more about how he feels or how those see him. He is not dealing with the real issue or at least does not appear to be. What he did was terribly wrong and even more so when he saw his own mother go through it. I saw his youtube video or a couple of them that he did and it was as if all of this was a joke. I am not saying that a person cannot change, but I need to actually see that change and enough time has not passed for me to see that. Also I have not seen him involved in helping young men realize that violence against a woman is wrong. Seeing is believing. No I do not know him and neither does anyone else on here, but many can get a feel by how a person comes across whether it is right or wrong and unfortunately Chris Brown is not coming across as being sincere - whether he is or not only he knows.

Good luck to both of them! Chris is an extremely talented young man with a world of potential and I hope he gets the help he needs to get past this, never do it again and move on to being the superstar he is destined to be!

Better that he hurts on the inside, than his women to hurt on the outside. A man who lays hand on a woman is a slimeball!

I could care less, that being said, it's pretty sad when EVERYBODY in the world has come down on his girlfriends side in this. They are kids, they had a fight, not one person to my knowledge said maybe they should get a counselor and try to work out some of their problems...namely with fame & fortune and the media pressure they are under. It doesn't matter to me if he beat her up, if she beat him up, or if one of them shot the other, it will not affect whether or not I put food on my table tomorrow. Who gives a s**t, it sounds to me like she wanted equal rights & he gave them to her.

It's a little rediculous that they cancelled Adam Lambert's appearance but still had this guy on??? Seriously....

It's okay to hit women, but it's not okay to be a homosexual who *GASPS* kissed A DUDE on tv!!!!!!
01:04 PM on 12/04/2009
Ok, let's try this again for those who didn't get the memo. He was scheduled to do the interview weeks ago, wayyyyyyy before the Adam Lambert fiasco. They didn't book him over Adam, he was already scheduled. His interview has nothing to do with Adam, as Adam's has nothing to do with him!

Who Cares? So he's hurting. Fame and fortune should be so fleeting that when you make such a mistake you are done. There are lots of talented people that never get a break.

Then you will make sure you never see a movie with Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Jack Nicholson or watch a show of Charlie Sheen's or buy music from Tommie Lee or Rolling Stones. Have you ever listened to James Brown? Watched Marv Albert on tv? There are more but you get it!

Ostensibly, Rihanna really cared for Chris Brown so she got the double whammy. She definitely was hurtin' on the outside, but was hurting more on the inside because of how she felt about Brown. Mr. Brown is not past redemption, but until he "gets it," redemption will be forever beyond his grasp.

I don't know about you, but when I am hurting inside, I find it a great release for me to hit something.

Ooops.

This guy still has a lot of work to do. He is puzzled by why he hit her, says he never hit another woman, and "that isn't me." He doesn't seem to have any understanding of why he did what he did. If his motivations and psychodynamics are a continuing mystery for him, isn't he more likely to hit a woman again in the future? Saying "that isn't me" is not owning up to what he did. To me, being remorseful means acknowledging what he did, understanding why he did it, and feeling badly for the hurt he caused another (rather than focusing on the hurt he is feeling).

I think he's working on that....the whys and hows. He's getting help and working on himself. She asked him a question about how he felt and he answered...what's the problem?

Cry us a river, Chris.

You are hurting? Kinda like women when you physically assault them?
12:03 AM on 12/04/2009
He has not physically assaulted women, he has however assaulted a woman.
01:46 AM on 12/04/2009
He physically assaulted that woman on MANY occasions, to hear her tell about it. Furthermore, how do yoiu know how many women he assaulted?

Everyone deserves a second chance. Shame on some of you and your hateful post. Go find Jesus for goodnessake! Might do your heart good.

I agree. And I did. I found him on a piece of toast. He told me to burn Chris Brown.

No. That was actually the dev.il. Do you know the difference? Seek help.
01:48 AM on 12/04/2009
You mean he deserves a second chance to beat Rihanna senseless? Or that he deserves a second chance to beat another woman?
09:18 AM on 12/04/2009
You don't sound very happy.
09:16 PM on 12/03/2009
It's difficult to try and be tough while feeling remorse.

If i was consulting him i'd tell him to apologize every chance he got for a year on every show.

The tough part is he HAS TO MEAN IT!

I don't get that he really understands the severity of it.

Miss Cleo, is that you?

Exactly how did you come to that conclusion? He says he does, you say he doesn't! No matter what he says you would not believe him so...
