8 Michelle Obama Wardrobe Repeats: Which Way Looks Best? (PHOTOS, POLL)

First Posted: 03/18/2010 5:12 am   Updated: 05/25/2011 2:50 pm

Perhaps the best part of watching Michelle Obama's wardrobe is finding out which items she adores so much that they resurface again and again. Before, she couldn't get enough of her Azzedine Alaia belt and green inauguration Jimmy Choos. Now she still loves her J. Crew, Rick Owens and Maria Pinto, but she manages to reinvent the looks with old-fashion accessorizing. Take a look which piece from Michelle's wardrobe do double duty and tell us which way she wore it best.

The best of Michelle Obama is the Fact that she wears some items, many are not Bold enough to wear. yet, she makes the odd pieces look wonderfully acceptable!

When she wore the turquiose argyle I was stunned, yet I found myself likng the look. I would never wear some items she wears but that is due to my flaws. FLOTUS is Able to wear odd pieces and make the look a Good one!

She uses items two, three times. I love it. FLOTUS seems like a real person is FLOTUS for once.

That is my coming to the reality of what was going on with me & my thoughts about her clothing.
Is it because she is more than her clothing!?

I have a high waist also, that is why I would never wear a belt before the fashion world said it was a NO NO.

After seeing Michelle Boldly wearing belts I have dared to wear one on occasion without remorse.

I liked the photos of her in a black dress not shown here. I liked her conservative 1950s wifey look in Russia. I liked the all black Mafia wife look when they visited the Pope.

I liked her glamorous magazine covers, especially one patiently composed portrait in particular. These photos are of Mrs. Obama's class-solidarity clothes, mostly and I'm not crazy about them. Especially the shorts and tank-top.

Seems like things are a bit more buttoned down lately because of the sobering circumstances. Still, the President and First Lady keep getting classier and more powerful as the Obama administration enters its second year. It's nice to see and Americans are grateful for their First Lady. As they say, behind every good man, there's a great woman. (something like that..)

We had the first MrsO in the 20th century. We have MrsO2 for the 21st.

MrsO2 sends a message of unity to the nation by wearing our own designers and repeating her clothes in a show of solidarity to a nation in economic crisis.

Notice in the scarf or no scarf photo, one is outside, one inside. I wear this same look to keep my neck warm outside. MrsO2 has common sense too. And it shows..

In the more recent photos, she looks much softer and prettier, I wonder if she has a new makeup artist., or if the same one is taking a different approach, either way it's a nice change.

She looks softer and prettier? Does softer translate into prettier? Are those two attributes given to white women more than black women? What is "softer" anyway? Why is that better than "hard?"

I have no idea, maybe you should take a survey. It was a compliment.

I really like the pics of her in the blue sweater at Martha's Table and the simple white dress with blue pin in Rome. She is so pretty, and I love to see her in the more girly styles - but the red Maria Pinto when they met GWB was striking, too. And I loved her inauguration style, I thought it was positively stunning. Not many other people liked it, but I did. I just think she's so pretty, she makes just about anything she wears look well and good. And after all those years of stuffily dressed first ladies (Laura Bush, Barbara Bush, and (sorry) Hillary, too) she is just a breath of fresh air. Michelle Obama, we like your style!

It is so cool and refreshing that Michelle wears clothes more than once, like a real person. She is gorgeous and I really like her style.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Our beautiful FLOTUS absolutely glows! She is a real woman with real curves and a few problematic spots (as do we all) but she is always immaculate, charming, smiling, uplifting, and inspirational. I am a white woman who grew up in the south during the 50's and 60's so I know about r@ci$m. I still have r@ci$t family members (whom I continue to try to enlighten every time we are together)..........I get all verklempt every time I see a picture of our absolutely beautiful First Family and I am proud that I did my little part in putting them in our WH. IMO MO could wear a potato sack and look good. I simply adore her and the rest of the O's.

I absolutely couldn't agree more!

I'm also a white woman and I witnessed the most horrifying discrimination when I was young in southeast Texas. For me, that legacy only heightens the pride I feel in our nation for electing our brilliant young president and for this beautiful young couple and their daughters now living in the White House. They continue to represent us all so gracefully.

I'm proud to be an American again after eight years of incredulousness and shame.

These are a really nice bunch of pictures. i like all except the ones where the belt is close to the armpits. Mercifully, those are few here.

But belted or not, our Michelle's best accessory is that fabulous smile!

They are most flattering.

Good clothes, bad clothes, it really doesn't matter. She is always very unpleasant to look at. That's the truth all the fawners skate around.
11:48 AM on 12/05/2009
Unpleasant to look at? That explains why you look at every picture you can find of her all day long, right? LOSER!
03:42 PM on 12/05/2009
Wrong. Unfortunately, you can't go to many HP pages without seeing her photo. OTT if you ask me.

yes, it's like looking at a train wreck. You know you don't want to and you know it's awful and then you look!

Michele has a lot of style and class, but what I like the most about her is her genuineness and warmth that shines through no matter what she wears.

I would have more respect for her if she wore a simple tunic made from locally harvested organically grown plant fibers woven on a loom.

That would probably cost more than what she actually wears much of the time, but I hope you don't expect homespun at state dinners. She is the First Lady, after all.

Like, oh, my, god! Clothing is so important. What lovely garments! What luxurious jewelry! How utterly splendid and grandiose!
