The New York Post's Jennifer Gould Keil reports that George Stephanopoulos and wife Ali Wentworth are shopping for New York real estate in anticipation for Stephanopoulos' new gig as co-host of "Good Morning America."
Stephanopoulos has been offered the job but has not yet publicly accepted, and is reported to be in negotiations with ABC.
Keil reports that the couple came to New York over Thanksgiving weekend to look for a place to live and are "coming back next week to shop for a $40,000-a-month rental."
The couple is said to "love their current Georgetown townhouse so much they're not sure a city apartment fits their needs."
FishbowlDC reported earlier this week that that prospective buyers for their Georgetown home have popped up even though the property is not yet on the market. The DC blog also cited sources in reporting that "the couple is already considering schools for their girls to attend in New York City."
Stephanopoulos and Wentworth have two daughters, Elliott and Harper.
