Pickering

JACKSON, Miss. — Police are investigating a fight between a former Mississippi congressman and a youth-league soccer coach after a weekend game.

Madison Police Sgt. Robert Sanders says Chip Pickering, a Republican who served 12 years in the U.S. House, was accused of attacking the coach Sunday.

Chris Hester, who claims he was wearing a neck brace at the time, says Pickering yelled at him and pulled him from his car as he tried to leave.

Pickering says he confronted the coach because Hester verbally abused his son so badly the child was crying uncontrollably. He says he defended himself because Hester attacked him first.

Hester coaches the team that played Pickering's son's team.

Both men could be charged with misdemeanor simple assault.

Hyper-religiosity, social conservatism and violence seem to go hand in hand.

I coached VOLUNTEER youth soccer for 13 years (coached over 25 teams), was a ref coordinator, coach coordinator, practice/games scheduler. These organizations are filled with great volunteers. Its the huge number of uninvolved parents that are the problem and I'll bet that Mr. Pickering never lifted a finger to help. I had a number of parents like that. They do nothing but drop their kids off for practices, never offer to help, are often are late to pick up their kids requiring you to wait with them, never work at home with their kids so the kids never get any better. They are sports organizations not social ones, improving is a good idea. Then something happens at a game and 'little Billy" or "little Susie" cries, and the parent takes it out on the coach. Been there done that . Based upon my experience (and those of the dozens of other coaches I have known over the years), I'm going with the coach on this one. Never, ever saw a volunteer coach attack a parent (its not what they are about), but have seen a parent attack verbally and once or twice physically.

C Street "The Family" has some weird ideas. Women are not equal, big business & wall street are superior, and Senators & Congressmen are God's chosen(Ensign,Coldburn,Inholl,Stepact,Neilson, and let's not forget Sanford) These guys went on trips to Africia to promote Gay Murders. They are against climate change, and all believe in one strange religion.
Why are these NUTS allowed in our government!

And the Lord said to Chip, "See that poor injured man Chris." He needs a healing. You must have faith. If thou can grasp the edge of his cloak by the brace and pull it asunder, he will be relieved of all pain, sorrow and any further soccer responsibilities. For if you show the world your healing power, then we will not need to change health care. All those who are ill, injured or weary may report to the C Street and admitted to their basement clinic

Well of course you could understand why Chip Pickering would go after this coach, seeing as he was wearing a neck brace and all. Guys like Pickering only go after people who look helpless and look as if they can push them around.

A Senator from Mississippi was asked his feelings about the C-Street frat house this past weekend on Washington Journal. The caller wanted to know if C-Street was a home elitist fundamentalist Christian politicians. The Senator described C-Street as a lobbying firm which is used by Democrats, because they have all the power now, can you say spin?

Yep. But piously.
