Alan Grayson Tells Dick Cheney To 'STFU' (VIDEO)

First Posted: 03/18/10 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 03:55 PM ET

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) put his sharp tongue to use again on Hardball this evening. Chris Matthews asked Grayson about Dick Cheney's penchant for taking swipes at President Obama, specifically his most recent accusation that Obama was giving "aid and comfort to the enemy," which is the constitutional language that defines treason. Grayson replied by telling Cheney, in so many words (or in this case, letters), just what he can do:

Grayson: I don't know. You know, on the Internet there's an acronym that's used to apply to situations like this. It's called "STFU." I don't think I can say that on the air, but I think you know what that means.

Matthews: Well, give me the first part.

Grayson: "Shut."

Matthews: Oh! I got you. Stop talking, in crude language. Well, I don't think you're gonna get him to do that.

They moved on to Cheney's accusation that Obama had shown weakness when he bowed to the Emperor of Japan, and in doing so, opened up the country to more terrorist attacks.

It's just too bad that it's too late to impeach him," Grayson said. "That's all I can say."

Let's start a movement to impeach Cheney anyway, just on general principle. Grayson is my new hero!

I agree with Congressman Grayson that it's too bad that it's too late to impeach Cheney. However it is not too late to indict him for a variety of crimes starting with war profiteering. The sooner the better!

I've never been able to say this about another politician... I'm proud that Alan Grayson is my Representative.

We could use a lot more like him.

I'm sure there a lot of Republicans that would like to say that to Cheney, but don't have the kahunnas to do it.

Even if Grayson only gets one term the spineless corporate lackey Dems need to hear this stuff.
Unfortunately I live in one of the many really stupid parts of Florida so hope he runs for Senate.

we can make sure he wins by funding him

after all. when he is able to get his message out, he wins people over. only when he is reduced by the mass media and people only hear single phrases does his opponent have a chance.

I'd like to see Greyson take on Charlene Christ and win a Senate seat.

IS it too late to impeach him ? Not that any of the spineless do nothings would

probably

but it isn't too late to bring up criminal charges for the many things he did.

we can also wait for the international criminal court to try him in absentium and then "accidentally" fly him over to europe and leave him there.

Cheney called President Obama “weak,” yet Cheney received 6 dubious deferments during Vietnam, has never carried a weapon or walked a post in defense of our great nation, and sacrificed thousands of American lives for a war built upon lies and deception. Conversely, Rumsfeld sent our brave sons and daughters off to fight for oil and nation building improperly equipped (insufficient vehicle and body amour), while Bush got distracted, let Osama escape, and under-resourced Afghanistan, which led to the Taliban reconstituting in Northern Afghanistan. For hawks like Beck, Limbaugh, and O’Reilly—the republican leadership, President Obama offers to much logic and not enough death and destruction. When in the midst of an insurgency, diplomacy is the “game changer,” not escalation. Johnson was forced to adopt an escalation strategy during Vietnam, a move which proved to be highly unpopular and very unsuccessful. We are fighting the Taliban, a lose collection of tribes with a history dating back 4 thousand years.

Cheney was granted 6 deferments, and ended up dodging Vietnam completely. Aspiring politicians will eagerly serve and go to war when doing so will further their career. Unfortunately, unpopular wars don’t provide such political advancement.

Lets see what the Bush intelligence agencies report said about the Bush/Cheney administration.

Iraq War Made Americans Less Safe
The National Intelligence Estimate titled "The Terrorist Threat to the Homeland" amounts to a devastating critique of the Bush administration's policies on Iraq, Iran, and the terrorist threat itself. July 7, 2007
http://www.dni.gov/press_releases/20070717_release.pdf

WHAT?

From what Dick Cheney has been saying, he and Bush made america more not less safe... which is it? the Bush/Cheney Intelligence Agency report or Cheney?
