Mark Zuckerberg

readwriteweb.com:

As a public figure it would be understandable if Zuckerberg didn't want his friends and family photos exposed to 350 million Facebook users and the web at large - but as the founder of a world-changing company that just did an about-face on the privacy recommendations that have been at its core throughout this massive period of growth, it makes more sense for Zuckerberg's photos to be as public as he recommends yours be.

Yeah, right. You know children don't need much privacy, but *adults* do.

Just wait till someone who tried to rape him 20 years earlier tries to get in touch and talk dirty to him where everyone else can see. Including his spouse, his employer and his children.

These kids have *no* idea.

350 million users...

lol...its not even 100 million, maybe not even 50 million. Multiple single user/group accounts run rampant there.

Something ironic about the fact that the CEO of facebook was born in 1984.

Can you find Zuckerberg by searching Facebook? I find his Fan page, which is certainly not his personal page. I dont want to become his fan, and it seems he doesnt even want me to see his page never mind invite him

See, this is an example of "Do as I say and not as I do". Real leaders and CEOs abide by the same rules.

I would. Then again, who said I have a leadership-type personality?

exactly, neilshea - all we can find is the fan page. and btw, he has s*krewed with ALL of our privacy settings once again and unless we go completely "dead to the world" searches show fan pages AND our list of friends. past settings allowed us to pick and choose who saw our friends list AND we could also bar any "outsider" (the public) from viewing our friends list (and our profile picture.)

there is massive revolt about this within facebook users, and zuckerberg has still NOT changed it back to the previous "control" users had. he gives the corporation more control over users everyday in his insane desire to "beat" twitter.

facebook is fun because it is ostensibly a "closed" program which previously gave users a great deal of control over who saw or interacted with our accounts. now - not so much. with each "improvement" to the site we lose more and more control.

if this continues, from the many complaints i've been reading about this new exposure, facebook will go the way of myspace.

Not only that but pictures as well. This was a complete screwup of a rollout.

The number 1 rule when upgrading systems is that you make sure that you either setup everybody with the strictest profile or you insure that their current profile is maintained. FB did neither, instead they removed all and then left it up to the users to fix it.

Very very poor UAT and rollout
