Tiger Woods DIVORCE? Wife Elin Nordegren To Leave, Report Says

The Mirror reports that Tiger Woods' wife Elin Nordegren may be seeing celebrity lawyer Sorrell Trope as soon as next week. According to the article, "Elin is believed to be planning to file for divorce in California -- where the couple have a home -- and not Florida, where they live." Filing for divorce in California would increase the chances that the couple's property would be split evenly between the two.

Nordegren was recently spotted without her wedding ring, and MSNBC's The Scoop quotes a source who says "she and Tiger are living separately now, but she'll be making this split very open and official right after Christmas."

Meanwhile, a source tells TMZ that Nordegren is "very close" to signing a contract with Puma, a rival of Nike, the apparel company with which Woods has long been affiliated. This report comes as Woods is struggling to keep his sponsors.

Both rumors follow a steady stream of new alleged mistresses that continues to grow. Most recently, Julie Postie and 40-something "cougar" Theresa Rogers have been named as former mates of the golfer.

I'm wondering when he and his brain trust will decide to start trashing his wife. With all his carrying on can she be far behind? A gardener, cabana boy, I'm sure they're working overtime to get the dirt on her. The more they can tarnish her the faster he can drag her back behind the curtain and get her to stick around, follow him around and become a "family" again. It will be as much a sham as what it's been, but the money will start flowing again for both of them.

Tiger's 1 Billion Dollar Booty Call

Tiger Woods earned $100 million dollars per year in endorsements. If you figure that he would stay on top for another 10 years, that's $1 billion dollars total. That text message that his wife allegedly caught him sending that blew everything up has cost him two endordement dels already, Accenture bailed first and now the watch company Tag Heuer has said no thanks. Think about it, if all of his endorsements dry up, he made a 1-billion dollar booty call.
Maybe he didn't think this thing through, did he?

If all this California forum shopping speculation had any merit, then wouldn't all he have to do to preclude it is file in Fla on Monday morning? Also, what do California courts frown upon more, infidelity or domestic violence? (Just because she wasn't charged does not take it off the table in a civil proceeding where the standard is much lower).

Also, are we sure that she would be better off under the community property laws in California (half of all earnings during the marriage)? Because it seems like common law states give the court more leeway in dividing property.

All of this presupposes that the pre-nup can be set aside of course.

Finally, since there is so much money at stake (not just his, but the corporate and media money stood to be lost) wouldn't there be a tremendous P.R. counteroffensive? Already we are hearing "Tiger - predator or prey?"

WHEN will the media stop referring to these pseudo-prostitutes as "mistresses"? That term conveys a certain back-handed respect upon them and the situation and his behavior that is not warranted!

They were *hookups*, nothing more, nothing less. Sexual conveniences. He was not having "affairs." He was being "serviced." The only relationships they had with him were as vendors.

fass i really hope ur joking. how can u seriously justify what tiger did by accusing elin of being boring. so what if she was, is it a wife's obligation to try to make things as interesting as possible between her and her husband, focusing most of her time on how to keep his interest rather than looking after their two children? do u seriously think it would be possible for elin to keep physically abusing tiger throughout the whole time they've been together, and get away with it? she is only tiger's wife, not tiger himself. do u really think tiger's handlers would keep allowing elin to keep beating him up, and do u seriously think tiger would allow elin to keep beating him on a regular basis?

what happened that night when she beat him up might have been a one off incident, its very hard to remain calm and sensible when u find out that ur husband has slept with practically everyone hes ever ever met on tour, has been paying them to keep their mouths shut and might even have a child from one of his many mistresses. domestic abuse is wrong but i think her feelings got the better of her in that incident. if i were her, i'd have probably done the same. tiger has not said anything against her coz he knows that he betrayed her and their children. why would he want to put his wife in jail when he knows how much of a good mother she has been to them?

oh and yeah, one more thing to those who keep saying that they cant believe that elin would not have known what was happening, wives can sometimes really be the last people to know. even though she might have suspected something, she probably didnt wana face the truth coz for some wives, the truth is too much for them to bear. so they act like there is nothing wrong. tiger has managed to hide the truth from everyone for that long, it really wouldnt be too hard to believe he could have also fooled his wife as well.
