Homebuilders Sacrifice To Make New Home For Family Touched By Tragedy

When one Charleston, S.C. woman was brutally beaten and robbed, her family thought their biggest challenge would be to return her to good health and to their home.

But Carol Armstrong, mother of two, didn't realize her fight would continue inside a house that couldn't accommodate her new wheelchair needs.

That's where the Home Builders Association in Charleston stepped in, CBS reports. Although many builders in the area were facing poor business and loss of their own homes because of the recession, they gave their time and resources to build a new home for the Armstrong family that would give Carol back her freedom again.
