The Most Uplifting Super Mario Bros. Trailer (VIDEO)

Huffington Post   First Posted: 03/18/10 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 04:05 PM ET

The internet is filled with videos re-imagining "Super Mario Bros.," but this one seriously struck a chord. I think I may have cried while watching this. Yes, that's right. A video that dramatically cuts together clips of Mario was so inspirational that it reduced me to tears. Hell, Mario wasn't just plucking on my heart strings here, he was strumming away.

This isn't uplifting, it's just weird.
But I guess good job for the effort

I love that plumber... and I'm not afraid to admit that I still play... actually, just got finished playing Mario Mini's on the DSi. I have to admit that I strayed away when when I got my first PS and played Crash Bandicoot... but no one can take Mario's place :)

Nintendo will always be way more special to me than the other systems.
When my kids were little, I was impressed that Nintendo made it possible to play some games with graphic violence switched off. You could play Aladdin with him throwing apples at the bad guys if you wanted, instead of swords. The other game systems didn't have those choices.

My kids grew up with Mario and loved all the games. It was very touching to watch this.

I agree.

This vid surely made me think on how old I am.. LOL, I mean how time passes us so quickly and we didn't realize on how Mario had change in so many ways. Wow, very sentimental indeed. More about this vid: http://bit.ly/sentimental-mario-brothers-commercial

I remember every single one of those recreations of Mario. Graphically the latest incarnation are the best but I always remember SNES Super Mario World/Super Mario Kart.

I agree about Kart but would probably place Yoshi's Island higher (the second SNES game)

Wow. As a 50-something video game junkie grandmother (thanks to the grandkids), I was impressed. It made me smile. That'll do, Mario. That'll do.

Well done. I smiled and almost teared up. I was 5-17 through the NES-N64 years. Mario was always one of those constants. New Wii Mario is fun too.

So sad, a man locked into the old role of seeking the approval of a woman to validate his manhood. Why play the role? Is she really worth it? Does she ever fight monsters for Mario?

Stop playing the role. Walk away from the game.

Sure she did. Mario 2. Won the game with the Princess, though Toad was better. ;-)

You beat me to it.... actually there is a DS game called Super Princess Peach. She has to rescue Mario, Luigi and the toads.
