I don't think they've recorded anything worthwhile since The Joshua Tree, so it kind of upsets me that they top the tour list -- particularly over Springsteen and E Street Band, who (in my opinion) play some of the best music today.

Why does it matter? Most popular seldom means most talented. I mean come on competing with Britney and Elton John.

U2 may be past their prime musically, but they can still deliver live like no one else. congratulations.

The list is interesting. Aside from Spears and the Jonas Bros. everyone on that list is a true musical talent. I may not like them all, but they're legitimate. It's not a list dominated by the corporate concotions being forced on us.

Maybe the corporate hacks who have taken over the music business should notice there is a market ( a big one) for real music.

These numbers are for North America only. Would the lineup be different if all world concerts were included? Bob Dylan played 56% more dates than listed here.

Best concert of the year 2009.......................Leonard Cohen
I think even U2 would agree with this.

Their Giants Stadium show was a great one indeed complete with a back-wall obscurity like "Your Blue Room" amid thunderous renditions of "Magnificent" and "Breathe". Bono's voice seems to have lost a bit though so it was just as well that they didn't play "Pride". For them to be 30 years into their career and still retain as much momentum as they do is astounding. U2 are living legends, haters be damned.

I've contributed by attending five shows in 2009. Five more in 2010. Wahoo! U2 forever.

Saw them in Tampa last year. Lead off band was Muse. One of the best shows I've seen.
Woohoo U2!

Congrats to sir Vox and the rest of the tax evaders in "Hewson, Too."

Another year of hypocrisy and greed.
