U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet wants federal investigators to take a closer look into the failure of New Frontier Bank in Greeley and possibly pursue criminal charges against bank officials.
He also is calling for reforms in the current banking system, according to a statement he released this week.
The policies of the state banking inspectors -- and some of the problems of New Frontier -- were uncovered this week in a Denver Post series on banking and prompted Bennet's request for a probe into the situation.
