The love between a boy and his dog is truly one of the sweet and amazing things in life.

Sounds like a young or sick cat. The dog should have been more seriously hurt.

Man's best friend indeed. Can we all agree, politics aside, to love animals?

Less than a minute to respond to a 911 call? Wow! Around here it would have taken a minimum of 10 minutes. Which is why we keep firearms.

Kudos to Angel. Good dog!

Around here, your lucky if a cop shows up at all. They try 100% just to take a report over the phone. They definitely will not show up until the shooting is over and you have to threaten lawsuit to get them involved with traffic incidents.

Yeah, as an avid outdoorser I’ve long been aware of the numerous attacks and that big cats have lost their fear of man, especially small women and children. Even though many of the gun nuts try to portray wolves as dangerous to man it’s the mountain lion that causes me to carry grizz spray.

Wow, that is one tough puppy.

So why did they shoot the cougar, are they saying that the dog's life is worth more than that beautiful animals? There are plenty of dogs available down at the kennel. Ever hear of tranquilizers?

That's one great dog. Rest assured that dog knew that cat was around and the danger involved as he began escorting the boy. Unwavering bravery and loyalty and love - truly man's best friend.

She called her father in law who had to tell her to call 911?? With that time wasted I'm glad to hear the dog made it.

Boston Bar is in a remote area of BC, surrounded by mountains. They were lucky that an RCMP officer was nearby. One detachment can cover a vast area out there.

I have no doubt our golden would do the same. They are incredibly docile unless their family is threatened.

Another example how dogs are a superior species to humans when it comes to compassion and mutual support. Dogs rule. Thank God they don't have to listen to all the vile pile of crap that our cable news air, specially FOX Hate News

So true and they cannot speak but they can read your mind, awesome. I wish only the law would require that everyone that acquires an animal has to get it tagged with a tracking device or identification. So many, many dogs end up on our streets in the country, dropped off, because the local shelter is full. It is so heartbreaking to have to see the bodies all mangled. Military especially, they don't want to take their animal with them and just drop them off only to get hit by cars. This has to stop.

Very true Vippy. This year alone our family rescued 2 dogs abandoned on our street. We found them good homes thank goodness, otherwise they would have died or ended up in our county shelter which is brutal. they are overcrowded and euthanize every week. sucks..

awww.. I love doggies. I hope Angel recovers quickly and well.
