A liberal group is mounting a last-ditch campaign to get Byron Dorgan to reconsider his retirement plans and remain in the Senate -- and the group's ammo is made up of pleas from his own constituents.
Word spread of Dorgan's plans last night, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee blasted an email petition to North Dakota residents asking them to send notes begging him to reconsider. PCCC has since collected over 1,000 notes, to be delivered to Dorgan in the days ahead, and the group sent over a sampling:
