LOS ANGELES - A 911 call released Friday reveals the frantic efforts by Brittany Murphy's mother and husband to save the actress' life on the morning she died.

Murphy's mother, Sharon, is heard crying and telling a fire dispatcher that the actress wasn't breathing.

The dispatcher then gives directions to Sharon Murphy on how to try to revive Murphy. She relays the information to Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack, who had already started CPR and is heard in the background trying to revive the actress.

"My daughter's passed out," Sharon Murphy tells the dispatcher, adding that the actress had been ill, had vomited and was feeling dizzy. She states that her daughter wasn't taking any medication.

She also said on the eight-minute call that no one saw how Murphy collapsed. Sharon Murphy is heard crying and wailing at times on the call.

"Brittany please come back!" she is heard screaming.

Brittany Murphy, 32, was found in the bathroom of her Hollywood Hills home on Dec. 20 and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Coroner's officials are awaiting the results of toxicology tests to determine how she died. They have said the family reported Murphy was ill with flulike symptoms in the days before her death.

Murphy's family laid her to rest at a funeral service on Dec. 24 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills.

Murphy moved with her mother, Sharon, to Los Angeles when she was a teenager to pursue an acting career. She started out in sitcoms and commercials in the early 1990s before winning starring roles in several films.

Her breakthrough role came in 1995, as a dowdy high school student (and best friend of star Alicia Silverstone's character) in "Clueless."

Murphy worked steadily after that. She shared the screen with Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie in 1999's "Girl, Interrupted." She played Eminem's love interest in "8 Mile" and Ashton Kutcher's wife in "Just Married." She starred as a suspicious girlfriend in 2004's "Little Black Book" and a barmaid with an abusive ex-boyfriend in 2005's "Sin City." She also voiced Gloria the penguin in the 2006 animated film "Happy Feet."

Murphy was juggling multiple movie projects in the months before her unexpected death, wrapping two indie thrillers over the summer and preparing to shoot a romantic comedy next month.

I'd just seen and heard the young woman's mother and husband on Larry King, and as King said,"It's strange." They were strange, the middle-aged, overweight, dyed hair husband looking more like her mother's. I see there's an article that she was warned to stay away from this man. They said she'd had no boyfriends and had never really been in l . . . What? She was married to this odd man, who, in fact, failed to follow the simple instructions to keep pressing and count out loud.

TMZ named a pharmacopia that could kill a horse. These people were enablers & exploiters who are now forming a "foundation."

Huge loss, huge talent. I'm definitely not listening to the recording, because it would be too hurtful. Brittany was definitely a great actress and always behaved in a responsible manner.

I'm feelin ya! maybe however, the exploitation of say, the evocation of contrition concerning synergism is justified to the point of being a public liability whereby the manipulation of said exploitation could then be used by the media by way of contrition by the public.

Reading this post is gut-wrenching enough. As a mother, I cannot bring myself to listen to the audio.

We are not supposed to bury our children.

I shouldn't have listened to this. I feel like I've invaded the most private of matters. R.I.P. Brittany.

It's always awful when you hear of a young life cut short, she had everything going for her, she was talented and ambitious, seems like another one of those that the fame was too much for. It's sad that these young actresses have so much stress put on them at such a young age, they're expected to handle their careers, marriages, http://movies09.com/2010/01/08/is-brittany-murphy%e2%80%99s-mom-fighting-with-simon-monjack/ and family life all without actually getting the chance to grow up and learn how. May her soul rest in peace and her family find the comfort they need to grieve.

It must be SO awful to lose a child, especially one so talented and on the way up, still. To hear her mother cry would probably ruin anybody's day...or week.

So heartbreaking. I think it's OK for people to be interested in hearing the 911 call. I think it's just curiosity about something we all must experience one day. Death of ourselves or a loved one. It's only natural for people to be curious about something as mysterious as death. I do feel very sorry for her dear mother. No parent should have to witness the death of their child. Very sad.

I do not have the courage to listen to this 911 call. I often wonder what is the publics need to know all the intimate details of anyone's life- or tragic death.

I feel exactly the same way.
It doesn't seem right to intrude in other people's heartbreak ....unless it's to help.

Ascoli, I like the way you phrased your comment...." unless it's to help".

Fanned for compassion.
