Rihanna Supports Seun Adebiyi's Search For Transplant, Perez Hilton Promotes

Last week, HuffPost Impact featured a blog post from Seun Adebiyi, an Olympic hopeful whose life is threatened by leukemia. He needs a bone marrow transplant to survive, and is imploring Americans to sign up for the National Marrow Donor Program through DKMS Americas.

Adebiyi now has some big guns behind his cause. Perez Hilton reports that Rihanna received a letter from Adebiyi and is now promoting the DKMS registry herself.

From Perez Hilton:

Twenty-six year old Seun Adebiyi from Nigeria wrote a heartfelt and touching letter to the pop star, asking for her help in finding a bone marrow donor. Along with Grey's Anatomy actor Justin Chambers, RiRi is now doing all she can to help the athlete fight his disease and compete in the Winter Olympics.

It's easy to sign up for the registry. Simply order a test kit through DKMS Americas. You'll swab your cheek for skin cells and send them in to be tested. Only one out of every 200 volunteers is ever selected to be a donor, and if you are selected, it's a much simpler process than you might think.
