Barnes & Noble has the worst section on New Age and the Unexplained. UFO books are mixed in with Astrology and conspiracy books are lumped in with unsolved mysteries. It's like this at all of the stores and it's not because the section is not kept up. That's the way they have it all ordered. They just call it all New Age and there's no separation between the different subjects. They also have a terrible selection of UFO books. One time I was in a Barnes & Noble and they didn't have one UFO book on the shelf. Give me a break! Every book store needs to have a few UFO books just for the fun of it.

And Powel's Books IS the best book store anywhere hands down. End of argument!

Or the Strand Book Store in New York. I never go to Barnes & Noble. Don't live in NY any more and why go when you can get terrific books cheaper, even with the shipping charges, on Amazon, Alibris or Ebay

You all only love B & N because you've never been to Powell's Books in Portland, Oregon. One square block and seven levels of new, used, books you never heard of, and stuff you probably thought you's never find.

I could live there.

I enjoy B&N too. I'll admit I don't shop there as much as should. But something about the stores. The ambiance is really wonderful.

Yes I do agree. Not too long ago I blogged about all the problems I had with Borders then compared the two chains. Overall I have had excellent customer service from B&N. Two years ago they sent me the wrong text book. The web page was not clear on the publishing date, so it was part my fault for the order.
I called panicked because school was starting in a few days. The rep told me not to worry. He sent the right book out overnight, but did not charge me a cent! He trusted that I would return the original book asap.
The local Borders carry limited stock while the local B& N has only let me down once. My local Borders is only about 10 miles away, while the B&N is about 20. Because of their quality service and large inventory I will continue to travel the extra distance.
