First Aid Kit

The earthquake in Haiti has caused a devastating amount of damage to the region. No lives in the area remain untouched by this event. Out of this tragedy, however, we've seen a tremendous outpouring of generosity. Hundreds of you have written to us at Causecast and Huffington Post Impact, asking how to help and where to donate.

HuffPost Impact and Causecast have worked with The U.S. Fund for UNICEF and the International Medical Corps to make available for purchase supplies needed to help individuals in Haiti. We've also set up a guide to the top organizations accepting donations for relief efforts. All of these groups are scrambling to give the best possible support to Haiti at this time, and we can help.

Through our page The Goods: Help Send Relief To Haiti, you can give donations earmarked for specific supplies, such as first aid kits, water purification tablets and protein biscuits. These purchases are given as donations to the organization providing them and will directly translate to a product that helps someone else.

Show your support at The Goods now!

Charity recommendations.

I highly recommend this website which rates charities and gives a breakdown of money received and money spent (click on the charity name in the right hand column). They also give other good advice which is on the page this link will take you too.

Keep your thoughts positive because your thoughts become your words. Keep your words positive because your words become your behaviors. Keep your behaviors positive because your behaviors become your habits. Keep your habits positive because your habits become your values. Keep your values positive because your values become your destiny.

What a tremendous post! I'm usually sarcastic, but what you've written is too accurate and too important not to applaud. Fanned!

Thanks. This is a good idea if it will match what their real needs are with what we can send.

With all due respect, I'd rather not go through a middleman organization. I'll stick with donating directly through Doctors Without Borders.

Agreed! Doctors Without Borders is the way to go. This is a no nonsense, no highly paid administrators. The bulk of the money goes directly for doctor aid to countries in need.
