Brett Favre 'Pants On The Ground' VIDEO: Singing QB Shocks Viewers

First Posted: 03/19/10 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 04:15 PM ET

Brett Favre added a strange twist to his post-game celebrations after the Vikings destroyed the Cowboys to advance to the NFC Championship game.

Fox cameras caught the 40-year-old quarterback leading his team in a verse of "Pants on the Ground," a song that was popularized during an American Idol audition last week. Jimmy Fallon, performing as Neil Young, also delivered his own rendition on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Scroll down for Favre's version.

God I hope The General gets paid for the song he wrote. It wouldn't be fair if he wasn't.

Then I hope it becomes HUGE because these inner city boys need to get their pants up.

Bret, we love you, but it is time for the Saints to dominate, and take it all the way to the Super Bowl.

This song is going to set off a huge trend in US society. After all, who wants to be that guy walking down the street with your pants sagging down and then hear someone yell out “Lookin like a fool wit yo pants on the ground”.

What needs to happen and WILL happen.

1. General Larry Platt with record the song.

2. He will have a video for the song where he takes kids off the streets and makes them go belt shopping. The kids will buy the biggest thickest belts at the store and a belt buckle with the most bling bling.

3. Society will follow and the trend for 2010 – 2011 will be young guys wearing thick belts with bling bling.

4. Jean makers will see the trend and will start to design jeans that have larger belt loops so people can wear thicker belts.

5. All the stores will have racks upon racks of thick belts and faux bling bling buckles.

The general will be the cause of the biggest trend for the next few years and people will begin to forget that American Idol and General Larry Platt were responsible.

The Favre adoration on the Gulf Coast is utterly obnoxious.

The local paper had a front-page headline that read: Brett vs. Saints.

As if Brett is the entire team.

See ya on Sunday, Brett.

GO SAINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Utterly obnoxious???? He grew up and lives not far from there in the off season. Of course he loves it down there.

My favorite team is the Saints, but my favorite player is Favre. Does that mean I can't lose, or that I can't win?

Sorry Brett...I think it's your pants that are going to be on the ground after the Saints get done with you.

I'm sure Keith Brooking and the Cowboys fans will point to this to support the charge that the Vikings are "classless" and "disrespectful".

But what is football more about, having class, or having fun?

And Keith Brooking aggressively following Favre off the field to the Vikings sideline and yelling at a coach is respectful and classy???

Shame on you for misjudging me and suggesting I am taking a position defending Brooking.

I saw that. I also saw Pat Williams watching the whole thing, and Jared Allen was walking towards Brooking. Brooking is lucky he didn't get his *** kicked.

All the NFL insiders say he doesn't form relationships with his teammates. I think they're wrong.

Just the Faux network insiders, as they always try to make seomthing out of nothing

You don't get a diverse group of players to play as hard as the Vikings did last Sunday, unless there some level of mutual respect. In following Favre through the years, I'm certain he advocated for Shancoe to be thrown to in the end zone. He knew he would be criticized for it, but that's the kind of guy he is. THey have each other's backs and are playing as a team and that is why they are winning.

Donald Driver said he was texting Favre back and forth up until a week before the Vikes and Pack played. He didn't get thrown to when Favre broke his record on TDs, but Favre went back and threw to Driver for another record later. It certainly wasn't Ted Thompson or McCarthy that cared about that. People remember who their true friends are.

Not just the "Faux network Insiders." I remember it coming from the Jets/Mangini locker room.

“He never socialized with us, never went to dinner with anyone,” the player said. Asked to describe Favre in a word, he said: “Distant.”

Thats one of those annoying songs you hear and then are mad when you cant get it out of your head - freakin American Idol!! I dont even watch that show and I can't avoid their marketing machine!! Anyway, congrats to the Vikings, they dismantled the Cowboys and they deserve to celebrate anyway they want to.

I look at some of the comments from obvious Giant and Cowboys fans, teams Favre and the Vikings have crushed this year and see you diss him thoroughly. True football fans would see some joy in seeing a player like Favre turn his life around and play at this level at his age. Hell, even if you aren't a football fan, there is something human about wanting peopel to suceed. Favre, Warner, Manning, Brees have had fantastic seasons this year. None of their efforts should be diminished by calling them cry babies, pill poppers, etc. None of us could be out there week after week and take the punishment they take. Let's celebrate them.

Thank you Brett. Thank you for being a cool guy with a sense of humor, unlike many pro sports players and thank you for beating the living tar out of the Cowpatties.
