Obama State Of The Union To Be Delivered On January 27

Obama

President Barack Obama will deliver the 2010 State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress on Wednesday, January 27th, the White House told reporters on Monday evening.

The timing of the address -- which takes place annually though is not constitutionally required -- had been the subject of much debate over the past few weeks. Conventional wisdom held that Obama would put off the speech until health care reform was passed, providing himself with a historic legislative achievement to trumpet.

The Massachusetts senate election taking place this Tuesday has put that process in doubt, with Democrats seemingly poised to lose the 60th vote they need to get health care reform passed. If Democrat Martha Coakley were to win the election and keep the seat in the party's hands, it stands to reason that health care reform negotiations between the House and the Senate won't be done by the time the 27th rolls around. If she loses and Scott Brown takes the seat, the only way health care reform passes expeditiously is if House Democrats simply adopt the Senate bill unaltered.

Should the latter scenario take place, Obama will, perhaps, be able to feature health care legislation in his SOTU address. But it is hardly a given that progressive Democrats in the House would be willing to simply cast aside their concerns. Obama could very well be left with something of an awkward hole to fill in his remarks -- in addition to the hangover of an embarrassing electoral loss in Massachusetts.

The speech, the White House says, will take place at 9:00PM EST. The address will be broadcast live on national television and will be streamed live on www.WhiteHouse.gov.

Americans are indeed forgetful and have short memory. Only the other day we were fed up and disgusted with the previous party's rule. They looted the national wealth, took the country to war on lies to the nation, emptied the treasury in the name of war spending but in reality looting.

These activities of the previous government culminated in the breakdown of financial Institutions, that gave way to a catastrophic in flow of total devastation of financial, commercial, Industrial, even completely destroyed the government administrative machinery.

Especially the State department that became ineffective where upon the country became friendless.
The situation went to that far that citizens lost their job, remained without food and shelter and had to pass dreadful days and night under the shimmering blue sky in bad weathers.

And at that situation, time for the presidential election came up luckily. And the citizens were so disgusted and furious with the Republican party‘s tyrannical, unprecedented corrupt and unimaginable horrendous 8 years rule that the citizens wanted an immediate change.

On assuming the responsibilities as President Obama or the Democratic Party leadership under him retrieved the shattered State department functioning and made a land mark recovery in foreign policy and successfully got the Edifice of the country back and also got whole heart support of all the super powers.

The option for American citizens to achieve their expectation is to strengthen the hand of the President and confront the propaganda against Democratic Party unitedly.

Here's an image to reflect upon as President Obama gives his State of the Union Speech: It's the day before Martin Luther King Day year 2010. 200,000 people are estimated to have perished from the absolutely DEVASTATING earthquake in our Caribbean-neighbor, Haiti. That's A FIFTH OF A MILLION CASUALTIES, folks!! Appeals for immediate aid spread throughout the World, including here at HP. Now you might think that Mr. Obama could at least show Solidarity with the suffering of a nation founded by fellow African descendants, this through a personal visit to Haiti on MLK Weekend itself right?? Nope. What does our President actually do instead? He HASTENS to Massachusetts in order to NEGATIVELY-CAMPAIGN IN-PERSON against an opposing candidate in that state's Election! He then JUSTIFIES his personal SNUB of Haiti, through oratorial Spin and Bluster (and for his own Obamacare no less!) The lingering image then becomes one of another unsympathetic leader who all too clearly puts Politics over Principle !!

Mr President:

I am not a citizen of your republic, but I love your country, and am a citizen of the world...just like you...just like all of us. I have watched how far you have come...seen how much you have accomplished...heard the hope on your constituents tongues....in your speeches.

I appreciate not only what you are trying to do for your country, but for common men and women throughout the world. You speak of peace , but will not succumb to the ev il around us all that exists. THere is so much ha te and anger and people are scared , as they have a right to be...but not of you...

You are NOT the threat. The Threat comes from within...from forces that wish you defeated ...because of their own insecurities ...their own shortcomings, ideology or prejudices.

I look at you not by the color of your skin , nor do so so many others. You are a leader and a visionary. You see the the future of what could be in matters of years and not with the confines of the twenty four news cycle.

You are doing your best against it all and succeeding ...there is light ..there is hope ...and you are on the right path sir...

yes we can..!”

These words have no meaning unless they are for EVERYBODY ...not only in the US but the WORLD..

Dems sometime prove my conservative friend right. He said "seems like dems are all dems because they want something, and they don't seem to care about other peoples wants even other dems."

When people on the left say, their is no change, or just like Bush. What they are really saying is the one or two things I really care about didn't get done or not to MY satisfaction. So there is not change.

Tell that to Planned Parent Hood... who despite proving free prenatal care to the needy where starved of funding under Bush, but now have funding.

Tell that to parents of children who can now get health care under expanded child coverage.

Tell that to scientist currently exploring stem cell research.

Tell that to the EPA which can now function AT ALL.

I know DODT has not been repealed yet, but that is NOT the only thing of importance. Each win enables more. Giving up now only guarantees you wont get it.

Freedom is Fundamental

In his state of the union address, an honest, honorable, and candid Obama would say,

“My fellow Americans, my interpretation of the 2008 election was wrong.

In it’s arrogance, the Democrat Party’s interpretation of their supermajority win was wrong.

In our hubris, we desperately wanted to interpret these results as a mandate to bring social democracy to all of America. We so wanted to believe that we were bringing change Americans could believe in, change to socialism. We were catastrophically wrong.

As it turns out, Americans still value their freedom more than they value an ever bigger government giving them stuff they haven’t earned and running their lives for them.

That is the sad lesson I have come to appreciate and I will spend the rest of my presidency dismantling the programs we Democrats have foisted on an unwilling citizenry in the hope that our actions over the next three years can justify our forgiveness at the hands of those we have so badly wronged.

I am truly sorry. I only ask that my presidency be judged by how fully I restore freedom to America as penance for the mess my hubris has wrought.

Good night.
11:44 PM on 01/18/2010
What socialism are you talking about? Unfortunately, a large number of Americans are suffering from the Stockholm syndrome and have no idea have badly they are being abused by corporate America. If only more Americans were to travel around teh world! I find it rather tragic that the ones who were hurt by coorporate American are also the ones who advocate corporate America's interest the most at the expense to their own well being. Hence, the analogy with the Stockholm Syndrome. This nation has been stupefied to a clinical level which is literally scary. Since when havinga civilized healthcare system is considered socialistic? Based on yoru skew logic countries such as the UK, Japan, France, Canada, among other G20 countries, are as such as well. You make no sense whatsoever.

You obviously have access to the Internet. Look up the difference between social democracy and socialism. Then, if you have an open mind, my comments should make more sense to you even if you don't agree with the freedom/communitarian dichotomy.
