Michelle Obama Wax Figure Unveiled At London's Madame Tussauds (VIDEO, POLL)

Madame Tussauds' wax museum in London has unveiled its version of Michelle Obama to commemorate the first year of the first couple in office. The FLOTUS is positioned next to Barack in a fake Oval Office, and the scene will remain on display until April. ITN News reports that choosing Wax Michelle's outfit was a top priority. Check out which ensemble the museum selected.

I don't think either of the features of these wax figures do any justice to the real individuals. I have seen the wax museum do much better than this.

The wax figure that looks weird is that of President Obama.....it doesn't look like him. They could have done a much better job.

Michelle's looks just fine....it looks like her.

Actually, it is a pretty good replica of her underbite. It is very pronounced. They don't have the belt high enough, though. Her wax b00bies may fall.

I have NEVER seen a wax figure of a black person that looked exactly right. It's not the rendition of features however that off but the "skin". Because darker surfaces reflect more light, they always look waxy and doll-like instead of looking realistic because of the light in the exhibit.

Your three links are excellent examples.

I watched a feature on the painstaking process that Tussaud's employees use to get hair color, eye color, facial features, and body dimensions precisely right -- it's a very, VERY tedious procedure. And after all that effort to get everything 'just right,' you'd think they would come up with a way to make wax figures of Black people have less of a chalky, waxy look.
