Voting Problems Dismissed By Massachusetts Secretary Of State

01/19/10 06:55 PM ET   AP

BOSTON — The Massachusetts secretary of state is discounting reports of voter irregularities in the state's Senate special election.

A spokesman for Secretary of State William Galvin said Tuesday two reports of spoiled ballots could not be verified or found to be widespread.

In one case, someone voting in Cambridge claimed a ballot had already been marked for Republican Scott Brown. There was no way to verify the claim, but the ballot was destroyed.

In another case, a person in Boston reported finding a ballot inside a privacy folder also marked for Brown. Officials say it may have been left inadvertently by an earlier voter.

Aides to Democrat Martha Coakley called a news conference to raise voter awareness of the concerns.

Blackboxvoting reports the usual: Coakley scores big in those precincts using hand count (think public scrutiny), and they sent results in faster. The electronic voting done by CEO (think secret vote count) scores Brown big favorite. Huge differences. Interestingly, the recent gay marriage election did not show significant differences between hand count and electronic voting precincts. Details available at site.

Conclusion. Secretary of State for Massachusetts is a corporate shill, and needs to explain just exactly how much money he made from the electronic voting scam Bush and gang perpetrated.

NOTE: If you want a good laugh, google the Hagel history of electronic voting surprises.

Mass, how could you. Welcome back boosh times. We will now roll backwards towards corporate takeover, and poverty for those not uber rich. I have grave concern the US will ever recover now, from the boosh horrors. We had our chance, and you blew it.

You succumbed to the onslaught of Repub propaganda, solely focused on you like a laser.

If you let them cheat or if you really voted Brown in, either way. Mass, I loved you, but no more.

Yes, it's the fault of Marth Coakley for taking an "it's a given, I will win. It's a Democratic seat in a Democratic state and I don't need to do anything, b/c I'm entitled to this seat." attitude.
It reminds me of the children's story of the race between the hare and the tortoise... needless to say, Coakley is the hare.
It's too bad for Massachusettes as they will have to live with these election results for awhile and deal with another "NO-party" vote in the Senate as representation from Massachusettes and with the shadow of Ted Kennedy looming.
I hope for Massachusettes, a better candidate than what they chose, next time around.

You people in Massachusetts may have just screwed yourselves.

Uhhh how?

I live in Mass. I have health care.

I use this green stuff called money to pay for it.

This dosen't seem to change that.

Excuse me, 98% of the people of Massachusetts have health care, because health care reform was implemented there. It's not just because you are personally wealthy. People who are unlucky enough to have chronic diseases are covered in Massachusetts. Not so in the rest of the country.

Sleep well.

Well, they probably don't care about issues. So they have what they wanted, it's the way the system works.

If Brown does in fact win the rest of the country can blame Massachusetts when the gridlocked Senate starts moving backward. I remember during Watergate seeing bumperstickers that read "You can't blame me, I'm from Massachusetts". Well now we will be able to blame you.

That's alright, Al Franken's legal team will track this down and declare Coakley the winner.

That's funny! You're pretending to be a chump, right? Well, your impersonation is bang on. Well done, Mr. Beck!
