Celebrities Who Admit To Plastic Surgery: Who Made A Mistake? (PHOTOS)

First Posted: 03/22/10 06:12 AM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 04:15 PM ET

Heidi Montag just spoke out about her harrowing day of cosmetic procedures that left her unable to move her face and nearly killed her. Not many celebs have admitted to having work done, but some have chosen to come clean, if only to blame a nose job on a deviated septum. Who looks good and who is a cautionary tale?

Heidi got ten procedures on November 20 including: a brow lift, nose job revision, boob job revision, botox, lipo on stomach and thighs, cheek and lip injections, ear pinning, chin reduction, neck lipo and butt augmentation.

I have way more respect for the celebs that admit they got surgery, rather the ones that neither confirm nor deny, even when it's obvious.

Totally understand the nosejobs - I've got a wonky septum from breaking my nose playing basketball as a teenager and I'd consider having a nose job.

Heidi was beautiful before but now she is gorgeous. Good for you Heidi. I really admire you that you were honest about your changes and did not try to deny it. Everyone in Hollywood these days have had plenty done to themselves and if anyone says anything bad about you they are just jealous they didn't have the money to do it themselves.

Have seen breast implants that was not worth $20K. With that money I would travel to Europe - now that's anti-aging.

Ooopsie - just realiised that these comments are for the entire topic rather than picture by picture. I was talking about Mickey Rourke in my last comment. Like it is important to know that.

Next: Pricilla Presley/ not real Doctor/etc. Oh, those wacky Scientologists and their "off the grid" doctors!

A mess that I still cannot get used to. However, his hair and bronzer are within his control .

At least Rourke had surgery due to having his face crushed from boxing. No, he's not pretty like he used to be, but it wasn't completely due to vanity...

Some of the others, say Jenner, Rogers, and Rivers, don't even look human...

If you want to have surgery that's fine, just don't lie about it. Hallie Berry (nose job) Julia Roberts (nose job) Angelina Jolie (nose job, ears pinned back, lips evened out), almost every movie star people claim are naturally beautiful have had plastic surgery, chemical peels, botox starting in their early to mid 20s, but they lie and say they eat what they want and stay thin running after their kids and use good moisturizer. Well, I've got 2 kids and running after them isn't how I keep weight off (my kids would have to be marathon runners for that) and I've got great moisturizer and always wear sunblock, but my forehead isn't smooth and shiny. Be honest. Say you can't eat anything enjoyable because it is fattening. You had a tummy tuck because you've had kids. Say you work out hours every week just like the rest of us and when that doesn't get all of the hip or ab jiggle, you have it sucked out. I'll only think better of you for admitting you are human like the rest of us.

...maybe some of the celebs don't want to tell everybody anything about their plastic surgery, but the tabloids got to first...

...i don't think it's lying so much as them not wanting to divulge that kind of information, which is understandable, but being a celeb means being in the public eye 24/7, so nothing in their private lives is sacred at this point...

Is Sophia Loren exempted from this discussion? How about Joan Collins, Carol Burnett and Mary Tyler Moore?

I just saw Betty White On TV at the SAG awards ceremony. She really looks her 88 years age but what's amazing is that she looks radiant and beautiful. Traces of her youthful beauty still radiates from her old wrinkled face. I am thankful that she did not succumb to plastic surgery to maintain a 'younger look'.

Once, there were two talented comediennes in Philippine movies whose funny faces made people laugh. But they always played second-fiddle to their beauteous and glamorous co-stars. One opted to have plastic surgery (a la Joan Rivers) to 'improve' her looks and be glamorous like her co-stars. She might have achieved her desired looks but after the surgery she looked totally different and was no longer funny. Nobody wanted to cast her in any role and she was never heard of again after her surgery.

The other comedienne kept her funny looks and later even got leading parts in the movies, as a comedienne, of course, but her career lasted till the day she died.

Heidi Montag looks terrific, but I always did love Faith Hill's looks.

Melanie Griffith.

Yeah, she's frightening looking! Is it just me or does her skin appear to be milky-transparent now?

To Howard Stern:

Why bother having work done if you're just gonna continue to wear that awful shag?? Still a hot mess to me

Total waste of money! He isn't a good looking man. Not sure much could be done there, anyway!

The irony is in striving for perfection or eternal youth, they've actually ruined their looks or changed a feature that made them stand out from the crowd (Jennifer Grey).
06:36 PM on 01/22/2010
So sad. I suppose to stay in the "game" in Hollywood one must go to these lengths. I'd be damned if I would risk ruining not only my career, but my looks, for more money. These people need to pick something else to define themselves with.
