Ritter's Talks With Pinnacol Irk Lawmakers

Gov. Bill Ritter's office for weeks has been quietly discussing the prospect of privatizing Pinnacol Assurance, the state-chartered worker's compensation insurance fund.

Such a move, assuming it was legal, could fetch hundreds of millions of dollars for the state, which is facing a shortfall of at least $1.3 billion for the budget year that begins in July.
