Leo DiCaprio Donates $1 Million Towards Haiti Earthquake Relief

Leonardo DiCaprio announced that he was donating $1 million Thursday to the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund, the relief effort led by former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.

DiCaprio made the donation through his own organization, The Leonardo DiCaprio Fund, which aims to foster awareness of environmental issues.

In statements made through a press release, the former presidents called the actor's donation, a generous gift.

The Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund is just one of the charities set to benefit from a Telethon on Friday. The multi-network program "Hope For Haiti" will be broadcast from New York, London, Los Angeles, and Haiti. Donations will go towards caring for victims of the Haiti earthquake that killed more than 200,000 last week.

The two-hour telethon will feature performances by Beyonce, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake and Keith Urban. Denzel Washington, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and former President Bill Clinton will also participate.
