One thing about Chisinau is their appreciation of the older buildings. Since about 60% of the city was destroyed in WWII they take pride in the older pieces. Every one of the old buildings has a bust of the architect on a plaque with his name, life dates, and references to other local works.

What a useful hobby to pursue. Those living in older cities are so fortunate to have such extensive artwork and beautiful material everywhere they look.
