'Hidden Gems' Proposal Could Complicate Water Collection In Arkansas River

A campaign to add 400,000 acres of wilderness areas in Colorado could threaten future operations that bring water into the Arkansas Valley.

It's not easy to get equipment for repairs into the mountain areas right now, even without a wilderness area," Bob Hamilton, engineering supervisor, told the Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy District board Thursday.

Then STOP building condos , timeshares and dude ranches and you won't need anymore water.
