I'm inclined to argue that the SEC could have moved beyond populism all by itself during the past decades or so.

But I am also open to learning new things - always.

This was never going to be easy. As candidate Obama said just three days before the election:

"Don't think for a moment that power will concede without a fight."

Now, we're seeing how true that really is.

We need bank reforms that protect the economy from the sharks, errr..bankers.
If pension funds are full of worthless paper and inflation rises, especially after the commercial real estate meltdown triggers more stimulus, america will look like 1970 USSR.
