Credit card companies are now letting their customers trade in their card rewards points to make donations to Haiti, the New York Times reports.
Companies had already waived fees for some donations helping Haiti, but now cardholders enrolled in membership rewards programs can translate the points they've accrued into donation dollars.
Currently, American Express, Bank of America, Capital One, Chase and Citibank each have plans for cardholders to make donations of this kind.
