Urban Dictionary Week On Facebook: What You Need To Know

Urban Dictionary Week On Facebook

Move aside, 'Doppelganger Week.' 'Urban Dictionary Week' on Facebook is here!

Urban Dictionary Week is just the latest trend to hit the social networking site (previous ones have included bra color status updates and celebrity doppelgangers).

Taking part in Urban Dictionary Week on Facebook is easy.

Urban Dictionary explains on its Facebook fan page,

Go to urbandictionary.com, type in your first name, copy and paste this as your status, and put the first entry for your name under comments.

As Mashable points out, it's easy to take part in Urban Dictionary Week, but pretty useless, other than 'being a nice promotion for Urban Dictionary.'

Watch out for NSFW definitions--'Nick,' for example, yields 'the most amazing person alive with a huge penis.'

It was a cute idea, but unfortunately pretty lame in execution.

There were a handful of men's names that were relatively amusing (my first name for example supposedly means I either have a mullet or aren't wearing pants), but every single female name my friends posted were boooring. Just a laundry list of "Blah blah is really beautiful, a great friend, and is nice to animals..."

Kind of defeats the whole purpose to Urban Dictionary in the first place.

My name lauds me as a really nice and kind, compassionate person who would do anything to help anyone. But, it also warns that I will "poop on the windshield" of anyone who gets on my bad side.

Hm. Pretty accurate stuff.

The fact that people tact urbandictionary seriously makes me want to pull my hair out.

What kind of person needs an 'urban dictionary' ?

Is this the stuffwhitepeoplelike ?

I suspect people who need 'urban dictionary' probably 'cram' to be cool.

Shouldn't have let them into the cipher back in the 90's

I voted "OBSOLETE", because urbandictionary has been around for years and lately its definitions have been all wrong.

Jennifer:
a fun, outgoing person. generally smart but can be a total blonde at times. someone who likes meeting new people, and smiles a lot. a person who never would just turn on people. a very good friend. someone you can trust. when she's mad, stand clear she might blow her top. but a person who doesn't get mad easily so you dont have to worry about that.
she alwayas smiles!she is such a jennifer.

anyone with a few working brain cells could figure out on their own that this is a "trend" totally started by a website's owner to promote the website. Who really cares what their name is on "urban dictionary"?

Exactly. I'm tired of website owners and their friends conning us into "latest trends". Totally lame.
