Everyone- stop the Chat over an ENTERTAINER who is so desperate for ratings he will say & do ANYTHING to remain relevant. His fan base is rural older (40-70) white males , hardly a jackpot for national advertisers. Most of his advertising is sold to local business & Walmart & the like. The majority of national advertisers want the 18-44 major market demographic- (especially females) who as a rule are not Limbaugh fans. If you want this performer to go away IGNORE him and his ratings will DECLINE. This is his greatest fear. DO NOT RESPOND TO HIS FANS. IF YOU KEEP WRITING ABOUT HIM you confirm to advertisers he is relevant & popular. Find out the local businesses who buy time on his show. Call them & say you & your families & friends will no longer patronize them. There is a recession out there & businesses cannot afford to depend on rural men 40-70 to stay alive in a bad economy.Sure, he may have SOME younger male & female fans, DON't spend anymore time and energy writing about this guy because you are giving him EXACTLY what he wants

Turns out the rebuke was not really a rebuke after all. Huffington Post got it wrong.

Meg Stapleton Palin spokeswoman issued this 'rebuke' thru email. Limbaugh reacted. Stapleton called Limbaugh in a state of big panic and backtracked that it wasn't him they were referring to. The "satire" has been browbeaten by Palin herself on Fox nes interview Sunday to justify their coward deliberations and exonerate Limbaugh of any wrongdoing.

They were issuing that rebuke to feed the mind of the public that they were CONSISTENT with their views. The violent reaction from Limbaugh caused the camps of Palin to disintegrate into fusions of cover up and in the end, Limbaugh believed he believed more the story of loyal Palin aide de camp Stapleton than the other camps.

Ohhhh.......I cover your back and you cover mine no matter what you utter, say r e t a r d by Limbaugh was just for laughs and entertainment. You liberals take it so seriously......

Tell that to the Marines, EX Cov. Palin.

This discussion about "crude and demeaning" behavior brings to mind Rush Limbaugh's crass mimicry of Michael Fox's Parkinsons disease. But, hey, it's OK bc civility is soooo politically correct, right?

sara defended rush

when rush says something its satire and ok

when a democrat says the exact same thing he should be fired

righties, explain how this is not hypocritical.

Palin doesn't mind it when her friends and allies make racist or sexist comments, because she judges them on her values, which she shares with them.

I seriously doubt Limbaugh would be offended if someone observed he was racist, sexist, or offensive to handicapped people. And Limbaugh supporters wouldn't be offended either.

Sarah Palin would be wasting her time trying to get Rush Limbaugh to respect her son Trig as a human being deserving respect. She is smart enough to realize this.

When Palins puts these labels on Democrats, she is getting their supporters (Democrats) to evaluate fellow Democrat on Democrat values and morals. (I doubt her supporters care if Ron Emmanuel is cruel to handicapped people or not.)

Ron Emmanuel, like you or me, cares where he is called a racist, sexist, or offensive to handicapped people. And it affects the support Obama's base gives his boss.

Perhaps to fight back against Palin and Limbaugh, we should could target how they talk down to and mislead their own flock, how they manipulate working class and middle class voters into voting for things that are bad for them and their families.

But we have to put it in simple terms, without being seen to talk down to them.

Framing health care as a simple "right to life" issue is maybe a good example. Pointing out that working and middle class foreigners have this right, but that Republicans won't let Americans have it.

Or talking about Palin's support or whatever of the Alaskan Independence Party.

She wants to be president of the USA, but she is the same person who supports (whose husband is active in) reducing the USA to 49 states. Something like that, short, but truthful. Something ordinary folks can understand.

I think Conor Friedersdorf put it as well as one can:

"Were Down Syndrome parent Sarah Palin more circumspect in her public pronouncements, she might have acknowledged that Mr. Emanuel's intent when using the word retarded "has no more connection to people with Down Syndrome and other forms of retardation than his constant use of the F word refers to the act of coitus," as Mark Krikorian put it. He is hardly alone in using a locution that should nevertheless be retired, a charitable critic might have explained. Instead Mr. Emanuel uttered his indefensible but forgivable remark, and Ms. Palin called for him to be fired. Is there any approach to fighting "the r word" more likely to trigger a backlash? This is why political correctness has a bad name."

Sarah Palin, with all her grassroots and folksy sidings, is really all about Sarah Palin. If she purports to be one of the moral majority, I feel very sad for the Moral Majority which I believe is neither.
