Haiti Aid Groups Collaborate To Save More Lives

Along with an unprecedented number of injuries and amputations following Haiti's Jan. 12 earthquake, aid groups are demonstrating an uncommon effort at cooperation and collaboration to get victims the best care possible, the Washington Post reports.

By pooling resources and transferring patients across aid organization boundary lines to receive expertise from specific specialists, survivors have a greater chance at a comfortable, healthy future. This is particularly remarkable in comparison to the level of cooperation in the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, officials say.
