National Wear Red Day 2010: What You Need To Know, How To Participate In Movement

If you haven't heard, National Wear Red Day 2010 is being celebrated today, Feb. 5, 2010.

The concept is simple: people across the United States are being urged to wear red to show support for women's heart disease.

The "Go Red For Women" first launched in 2004 and since then, individuals, companies, and even entire cities have joined the movement.

The American Heart Association has compiled a number of resources for those interested in participating. The resources can be accessed by signing up for the event here.

The National Heart Lung and Blood Institute also has a National Wear Red Day Toolkit.

A red dress track pin can be purchased through the institute in support of the movement.

KidGlue has compiled information about women's heart disease, including potential symptoms.

Besides wearing red, you can spread the word about this day with your friends and family, and help increase awareness about the National Wear Red Day movement.

Here is the movement's official Facebook page.
