Bourbon Street's Super Bowl Celebration: The Morning After (PHOTOS)

First Posted: 04/10/10 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 04:25 PM ET

New Orleans Saints fans partied hard in the French Quarter last night following the team's upset victory at Super Bowl XLIV.

Signs of the festivities were clearly visible on Bourbon Street this morning. Hopefully the city can handle a few more nights of partying -- the Saints will hold their Super Bowl parade this week and Mardi Gras is just more than a week away.

Mardi Gras Day is just the culmination of the Mardi Gras season which officially begins on Epiphany (6 January).
Mardi Gras parade season begins 10 days before Mardi Gras, i.e. it started on Saturday, the day Mitch Landrieu was elected Mayor of New Orleans and the day before the Saints became champions of the world.
So, New Orleans is well prepared for extra parades and parade goers. It fits right in with tradition. And hopefully we have started a new tradition of winning football!

no cars were flipped or burned,..no rioting nor calling out the cop gear for it...so i say,..all in all...very appropriate and decent partiers, for sure....some folks just want to make N.O. look bad no matter what...well guess what,..they are not a bunch of uncivilized types, as 'some' would wish upon them to be..i say rock on N,O and congratulations again.!!! Ya'll totally deserved it!!

There were some pretty horrifying stories from the aftermath of the Super Bowl Parade on Tuesday night. I didn't see any news coverage, but there were many posters at a nola.com article describing the chaos and the non-law-enforcement of the NOPD dogs.

I think the city can handle it. They've cleaned up messes once or twice before.

Try going around Easter or Christmas, or in the daylight.
