The Water Ceiling Prank: Simple Yet Hilarious (VIDEO)

What's Your Reaction?

This is a pretty genius prank that involves only a chair, a bowl of water, and a stick of some sort. Unfortunately those are the three items my parents got me for my birthday this year. If I possessed this gentleman's ingenuity I might have whipped up a quick little prank like this in order to go viral on YouTube, however I just sat in the chair staring at the water waiting for a kind of pulsation like Jeff Goldblum in "Jurassic Park." You may now be asking yourself what I might have done with the stick, to which I might respond, "Well, I lost it."

Anyway, this guy made use of his household items and shared the result with the world.

What an AH. not funny, and anti woman,
MrMarx   07:14 AM on 2/11/2010
So if the roles were reversed and the man got wet, would it be anti man?

WeCanDoMore   02:05 PM on 2/11/2010
No, unless men were smaller and weaker than woman. Would it be funny for a man to do this to a child who was physically smaller and weaker than him? It would be child abuse. This fellow thinks of this woman as his toy.

It might have been funny if the victim was prepared in some way, dressed as the Michelin man, for example, but they way this was, it was potentially hurting someone so a 3 stooges wanna be could get laugh.

Not only thunderously unfunny, but a thunderously dumb thing to do, IMHO, to someone who knows where you sleep.

And he left her holding a big stick...

Not really funny. Only mildly funny if he just left her there holding the stick. The slap on the behind was when it was no longer amusing. I hope she beat him around the head and shoulders with the stick. That is, AFTER she recovers from the sprained ankle.

One small mistake there Buddy... You just left an angry, wet woman... with a very long stick...
Any guesses what she might so with it next?
I'd say you've earned whatever she dishes out to you.

the only problem: after the prank, the prankee has a long wooden stick and you've got nothing.
American hero   12:28 AM on 2/10/2010
Not funny except if you consider that someone filmed this with two cameras. The first part was the "prank." When she was "trapped" by the circumstances. But even then it's a simple asking someone to help you and betraying them. If he would have stopped there and said, "look now I should leave, what would you do?" that would have been "a prank."
For the 2nd part, why didn't he just save the effort? He hit her with his hand knocking her to the ground, struck her on the head with a bowl and threw water on her. What exactly is so amusing?
American hero   12:44 AM on 2/10/2010
I was unclear. I don't mean why didn't he save the effort of doing the 2nd part of the "prank" what I meant was why did he go through all the effort of setting up the whole elaborate "prank" in the first place when he could have just saved all that trouble and just punched her, as he did, knocked her to the ground, struck her on the head with the kichenware and threw water on her. That would have been just as "amusing."

BulgyLamb   12:55 AM on 2/10/2010
first off, if he just punched her she wouldn't have gotten a bowl of water dropped on her head. also showing someone your jab isn't really a "prank"
secondly, its was funny because she thought david blane there could make a bowl of water disappear
third, if he just let her get tired she would have way too much time to threaten him and undermine the prank. thus a quick playful slap is really the only solution to his problem

in the end harmless pranks are food for the soul

He laughed, she laughed, they have a good relationship and a healthy sense of humor. Nobody "punched" anyone. Unclench here a little pal. These are two people who have fun loving each other. If you can't see that then I feel sorry for you.

A 2-camera shoot for a prank? Who DOES that? (Id say it was a viral, except no product was explicitly being hawked.)
RingworldEngineer   04:25 PM on 2/09/2010
they call ceilings roofs in austrlia? there is something not quite right with that country.
GotRights   05:35 PM on 2/09/2010
I think they should call the ceilings "floors" and vice versa, seeing as they're down under and all.
