Tom Cruise

LOS ANGELES — Tom Cruise is starring in another impossible mission.

Paramount Pictures announced Tuesday that Cruise will be back in front of the camera for "Mission: Impossible IV," due in theaters over Memorial Day weekend in 2011.

Cruise and "Mission: Impossible III" director J.J. Abrams previously agreed to produce a fourth movie in the action franchise. But it had not been known if Cruise would star again.

Abrams will stick to producing this time, with the search on for a director to shoot the new installment. Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec are writing the script, based on a story idea from Cruise and Abrams.

The movie reunites Cruise and Paramount, which cut the actor loose from a long-term development deal in 2006.

Honestly, the most entertaining thing about these articles is watching the Tom Cruise Trolls crawl from under their bridges to try and defend their master using the language of the insane. "He can ride a bike", "The Hangover one he sure benefited from being attached to Jennifer Aniston", "The reason everybody hates Tom Cruise is because of Paramount's marketing division".... etc, etc. After reading some of these comments, I now know what going mad feels like.

You know haters. I never said everybody hates Tom Cruise and links please for that kind of generalization? because of Paramount studios.

I said Paramount stduios gives certain stars like Leonardo Dicaprio bad placement and terrible marketing for their movies, Leos movie is coming out in the midst of Valentine's day season and he AND the director ;ast year complained about it to the studio execs. Nothing to do with hating.

He doesn't fall off his bikes that is true.

I was commenting about Bradley Cooper's pull as a leading man and saying All About Steve didn't go to well for him, and remember he had Sandra Bullock to help with that movie so I wouldn't be so sure that the Hangover 2 would go well, he sure got alot of benefit out of attaching himself to Jennifer Aniston.

Also have you spoken to everybody in the world and asked them if they hated Tom Cruise? No no wonder you feel like you are going mad

Never mind Tom Cruise, it would be nice to see Thandie Newton back as a black actress she was great in Mission Impossible and opportunities like that are few and far between

Give it up already Tom Cruise. You're washed up.

Movie should be called "Mission Impossible 4: Trying to Find My Dignity After I F**k Up My Career"

There really hasn't been a good movie in this entire series, and the last one was the WORST. The theater I was in was laughing hysterically at the end of MI:III, when Cruise's character is trying to fight while in excruciating mental pain -- his phony expressions were hilarious. Then when his girlfriend had to save him, suddenly turning into the chick from "Alias," it went even further over the top. The masks, the machine gun fire that never hits anyone -- by morons, for morons, all served up at the alter of Tom Cruise's ego. Spare me a fourth, okay?

Plot: The Impossible Mission force breaks into a high tech compound of a religious cult which has gained a great deal of power and is secretly controlling some top government officials and buying up property in Hollywood. While inside, Tom’s character rescues a famous actress who is slated to be brain washed next and married off to the president of the Film Actors Guild.

There was a MI-III?

LOL!

I think that just proved the point that MI 4 is unnecessary!

Memorial Day 2011? So they are actually thinking that MI IV will compete with Hangover 2 and Pirates 4? LMAO!!!

Good luck with that Tommy Boy!!

Bradley Cooper didn't have a great run in All About Steve, The Hangover one he sure benefitted from being attached to Jennifer Aniston. But I agree Paramount never gives certain stars the correct placement

You nasty folks out there putting Tommie down, lets look on the bright side,

this will help actors shorter than Tommie to find employment.....

And we can looks forward to all those red carpet antics like riding down the carpet on a motorcycle with Katie. Maybe this time he can land a jet in front of the Mann Chinese Theater for the premiere! And more PDA around the world to prove how virile and manly he is next to his amazon wife... Katie better bulk up on Abreva...her lips are gonna get a work out at each premiere.

OMG.. I almost can't wait to seriously have this over already!! Blech!

And I am still uber pissed they pushed the Star Trek sequel to 2012 to make room for this turkey!

I really liked the fight on the beach with motorcycles in one of the Mission Impossible movies he did. Also, I liked how they kept the magical latex masks, which are hilarious.
