Knoxville School Shooting: Two Shot In Inskip Elementary School Shooting

A Knoxville school shooting at Inskip Elementary School resulted in quick action from Knoxville police and the arrest of Mark S. Foster, 48, this afternoon, USA Today reports.

Foster, a fourth grade teacher, apparently shot two school administrators, its principal Elisa Luna and assistant principal Amy Brace. Volunteer TV reports he was arrested within 15 minutes.

The incident occurred about an hour after students were dismissed due to snow in the area.

Luna is the daughter of former state Sen. Jerry Cooper (D-McMinnville) according to The Nashville Post.

The latest reports on the victims put them in stable condition at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

Inskip Elementary School is a public school with 396 students enrolled from grades Pre-K through 5.

A previous Knoxville school shooting occurred at Knoxville Central High School in August 2008. A 16-year-old student died in that shooting.
