WATCH: 'Pray The Devil Back To Hell' Documentary Celebrates Bravery Of Liberian Women Against War

In commemoration of International Day of Peace this past September, a crowd gathered for a screening and subsequent discussion of activist Abigail Disney's documentary 'Pray the Devil Back to Hell.' The film tells the story of the remarkable Liberian women who, through non-violent protest, played a critical role in ending their county's 14 year civil war.

The panel, which included women's activists such as Lynn Sherr (Broadcast Journalist), Zainab Salbi (Founder, Women for Women International), Melanne Verveer (President Obama's ambassador at-large for women's issues) and Dr. Sakena Yacoobi (E.D., Afghan Institute of Learning), tackled the complex relationship between women and violence -- particularly in developing nations. The panel discussed how women are often targeted and marginalized during times of war, and attempted to develop strategies to strengthen women's voice in crucial circumstances.
