John Mayer Gets Emotional On Stage: "I Quit The Media Game" (VIDEO)

John Mayer got emotional onstage Wednesday night in Nashville, hours after he tweeted an apology about using the N-word in a wide-ranging, oversharing Playboy interview.

"In the quest to be clever I completely forgot about the people that I love and the people that love me and I went, as I had begun to do, into a wormhole of selfishness and greediness and arrogance...

"Maybe I need to take a break from trying to be clever...

"I quit the soundbite game. I quit the media game. I'm out. I'm done. I just want to play my guitar to whoever is around...

"I want to thank this band and I want to thank these fans for standing by me."
