Lady Gaga's Face Pearls At AmFar Party (PHOTOS, POLL)

Lady Gaga may have outdone herself by doing what possibly no one has ever done before: gluing pearls to her face. And her body. The singer attended the amfAR benefit gala on Wednesday night--in the middle of a blizzard, it should be noted--to kick off New York Fashion Week.

Gaga is getting great publicity, but I prefer Madonna's voice and songs. The Difference is generational biased as I grew up with M, so one relates to their contemporaries They're both getting paid big bucks.

I think it's awesome she does her own thing. I don't have to like her--so what if I don't. But I still think it's great that she isn't afraid of what people will say or think. That girl is *working*. You don't get where she is without putting in the time and giving up a lot of other things that lots of people take for granted.

She'd been writing songs for other people that did quite well before she started recording and getting recognition. I also really like how she doesn't have "perfect" features--body, nose, etc--but she is radiant. I like the message that sends my daughters--you don't have to fit the mold of other people's expectations, but your own. Live your life passionately as yourself! If other people think you are freakish, that is a reflection of their values, not your own. Be true to your creative voice.

Good for Lady Gaga.

Pokerface, Bad Romance, Paparazzi. Catchy tunes in a musical era gone totally stagnant. Ke$ha's TiKToK has been at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for weeks. Again, catchy tune in an otherwise dead industry. Humorous, creative videos by both artists. I personally don't like the driving club beat, but the edgy humor, lyrics, and costumes are very welcome after several years of crap.

I can't believe people actually like this person. She's ugly, and is totally reliant on shock value to get attention. I'm just hoping that the 47% of people saying this is "gorgeous" amounts to like 5 or 6.

Agreed, I was thinking the same thing.

Seriously, I work with a girl who is *obsessed* with white teeth, so she constantly does all the teeth-whitening treatments she can get her hands on. Then she goes to the tanning salon. Honestly, in everyday life it really does look unnatural and really obvious. With your permanent teeth natural "wear and tear" gives them a slightly yellow cast.

Have you ever heard her sing live? She doesn't need auto-tune. She has been playing piano since age 4 and was accepted into Juiliard (spelling) at age 12. So the criticism of her being talentless is unwarranted. I like Madonna also but really think Gaga is more talented.

It's ok if you prefer Madonna to Gaga. I just don't get why you need to slam those that don't agree with you. I'm in my 50's; I couldn't tell you the title of one Lady Gaga song but I see her in the headlines all the time. She is a master at self-promotion, just like Madonna. I really wasn't talking about your musical preference, I'm sure both women have plenty of fans.
