Why should they care how of if they wash them when it costs money? Companies are the same everywhere, if they don't get caught, they will do it as long as possible. Now, the glasses have been confiscated, and that makes me think about the conditions in the less regulated United States.

Theatre I went to washed the glasses after they were used.

All it takes is water and a little vinegar. I'm sure Italy can find vinegar somewhere.

The goggles you wear at tanning salons pose the same risk. You can get pinkeye, iritis, all sorts of eyeball nasties. Don't share eyewear!!!

Buy your own pair.

I would want them in some kind of washing machine that uses high heat... but perhaps that would ruin the film over the "glass"....? This does give me the creeps to think some dank, pimply adolescent may have used them before me.
