Facebook Status Glitch

NEW YORK — Facebook users have been complaining about problems at the social media site.

Users in the U.S. and other countries reported problems beginning Saturday morning. Some could not log in, and the site was unusually slow and glitchy for others. Users in London, Bangkok and Mexico City reported problems. Many used Twitter to complain.

Facebook spokesman Matt Hicks it was a "small percentage of users" who had problems accessing Facebook, their friends' profiles or specific site features because of an isolated server problem.

At 6 p.m. Saturday, Facebook said it had restored access to the users who were having access problems.

Facebook, which has more than 400 million users, has generally avoided such hiccups. Twitter has had bigger problems. Last August, hackers shut down the short messaging service for several hours. Facebook also experienced problems, but it was never shut down completely.

lol I'm hoping that's sarcasm, since they can rarely fix their own problems.

You mean "Get the legal guns out of our National Parks." You know, the guns carried by those folks who have followed the law in getting training and a permit from our government. Those folks that might actually be able to help in a crime situation, as opposed to the Police whose response time is measured in hours in the Parks.

You certainly don't mean the illegal guns carried by the meth-lab proprietors who have flocked to the seclusion afforded by the Parks. They, of course, ignore any of those gun control measures you so avidly support.

p.s. TJ, I'm not stalking; it's just that your comments in articles I tend to read just invite a response :-)

That's, what I am talking about...

Ah, worker productivity went-up in cubicles around the world, and both farm animals and mafia dons were safe from all the gamers wasting time on Facebook.

Still, remember the lessons of eBay - ya gotta keep the site up! Wait and see....

The slowdown was caused by the servers being used to transfer updated information on its users to the NSC

Everything is being filtered through The NSA and DARPA a part of TIA...

It's gotten so bad nothing really works right...

Few people know it was DARPA and the NSA who funded Facebook..!

Google it, it's all there to red and see..try looking for the pdf that explains it all not just what people post there on Facebook Congress approved the expenditure...

Never write anything on Facebook you are not willing to have read by every agency in our government..

Congress approved the funding by DARPA....and the NSA that's a matter of record...

Why do I always have to educate those who want to argue with me...?

Total BS! It glitches all the time. Was this article edited by Facebook's PR department?

The most irritating thing about Facebook is all the stupid games and apps. Everyone has stuff up on the home page that is just a waste. Who cares about anyone's chicken coop in Farmville or Yotown or whatever it is? I can't believe people spend all that time on this ridiculous junk.

Someone hacked into my friend facebook account and used her email to send nasty messages to others.
01:34 AM on 02/21/2010
if you have a stupid password, its not technically hacking.... the most common password out there is 123456.

how can anyone say that attempting to get into someone else's account is not hacking?
if your girlfriend had sex with your best friend would it be okay because you were the one that left a box of condoms in her dresser drawer?
