I like his "shoe" line-up, but the mens collection is quite sad if you ask me!

Interestingly I think the shoes the lads wearing look like he swiped them from Bozo the clown.

So where are the godawful 9 inch shoes like what he designed for the ladies? Don't the men deserve equally as cutting edge "fashion"? Or did he just like them better and thus didn't want to torture them. I'm sorry the guy felt like he had to take his own life, but those shoes are just torture devices and I'm calling it like I see it.

Well I loved those shoes...but beyound that I think you are ignoring the fact that McQueen was a fashion designer who used his catwalk pieces/shows to critique the fashion industry and notions of beauty, those shoes ae part of that tradition. If you go and look at some of his earlier collections like 'Highland Rape' or 'Voss' (which is I think my favourite) you will get a sense of just how extraordinary McQueen's vision was.

Why are designers who look backwards and recycle tired old fads considered brilliant?

Even the model has on that "You mean people are going to pay big money to wear THIS crap out in public?" look on his face. LOL!

I like it. It's unassuming and unpretentious, but when you see someone wearing it, it's there. Something I would actually buy.

It looks perfect on the model.
if I were younger I'd wear it.

I'll stick with his adult line.

i think that it is a very intresting collection, i think it is very daring and only somebody who is very secure with themself could wear this. one day i would like to work in fashion and if i could be as good as he is i would be thankful. i think it is very inspirational.

My, my, looks as though this thread has turned into amateur fashion critic hour.

His McQ label was a secondary/diffusion line; it was geared toward younger people, hence the adolescent model.

He's came up in London's east end during the and seventies and early eighties. It's only natural that the Teddy Boys and Rude Boys of days past would influence his design aesthetic.

thank you! McQ is brilliant, love it!

So this line is meant for young people with access to large quantities of money, who wants to look like Rude Boys, because they never had the "fascinating" chance themselves? Fashion always makes a lot of sense, its wonderful, no wait I meant phenomenal, no sorry gorgeous..marvellous, so alive, so real.. ;)
