Kate Winslet looks best, hands down. Simple and elegant. Did most everyone else wear a wrinkled sack? That seems to be the prevalent look.

Amazing! None of them looked trashy, a clear and immediate hint that the event was not in the United States. In fact, the only dresses that bordered on trashy were that golden yellow short thing worn with the hooker shoes, and Winslet's too-bare bodice. But even then, those were not examples of the 'rape me' look so favored by the lowlife that seems to pass for star material these days in America.

Thank you for once again pointing up the fact that Americans are shallow. You didn't object to "lowlife that seems to pass for star material," clearly a slur upon the character of the Hollywood swells, but on the "rape me" look, a comment on the tawdry appearance of designer clothes.
