British MP Nigel Farage, a well-known Eurosceptic, stunned fellow members of the European Union legislature Wednesday as he unleashed a personal tirade against EU president Herman van Rompuy, whom he said had the "charisma of a damp rag and the appearance of a low-grade bank clerk." Farage's comments were immediately met by loud booing and heads shaken in disapproval, but he was far from done. "I have no doubt that your intention is to be the quiet assassin of European democracy and of European nation states," Farage said. At one point he even asked the former Belgian prime minister point blank, "Who are you?"
