Lauren Ashley, Miss Beverly Hills 2010: Bible Is 'Black And White' About Killing Homosexuals

Lauren Ashley Miss Beverly Hills

First Posted: 4/26/10 Updated: 5/25/11

Lauren Ashley, self-proclaimed Miss Beverly Hill 2010, is picking up where Carrie Prejean left off in vocalizing her strong views on homosexuality. Ashley, who will be competing in November's Miss California pageant, spoke with Fox News on the subject:

"The Bible says that marriage is between a man and a woman. In Leviticus it says, 'If man lies with mankind as he would lie with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death and their blood shall be upon them.' The Bible is pretty black and white..."

"I feel like God himself created mankind and he loves everyone, and he has the best for everyone. If he says that having sex with someone of your same gender is going to bring death upon you, that's a pretty stern warning, and he knows more than we do about life."

The LA Times reports that the city of Beverly Hills was quick to disavow Miss Ashley:

In a statement Wednesday, the city said it was shocked by Ashley's description of herself as "Miss Beverly Hills." The city "does not sponsor a beauty pageant and has no association with Miss California USA," the statement said. "As such, there should be no individual claiming the title of Miss Beverly Hills."

The city's statement said Ashley lives in Pasadena and "does not represent Beverly Hills in any capacity."

High scores are all but guaranteed for personality, we will have wait to see how she scores in evening wear.

She is absolutely correct in her Bible quote, and this is one of many reasons why nobody should worship the God mentioned in the Old Testament and worshiped by Christians, Muslims, and Jews. All 3 of those major religions uphold the validity of the Old Testament, which includes many horrendous sections, including the part quoted for us by Lauren Ashley. I thank her for bringing everyone's attention to how inhumane and evil the God of the Bible is, by quoting just one of many of the examples of God's utter depravity. Religion itself is absurd, and the sooner we all become atheists the better.

"I wanted to ask you a couple of questions while I had you here. I'm interested in selling my youngest daughter into slavery as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. She's a Georgetown sophomore, speaks fluent Italian, always cleared the table when it was her turn. What would a good price for her be? [silence in the room] While thinking about that can I ask another? My chief-of-staff, Leo McGarry, insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly says he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself or is it okay to call the police?

"Here's one that's really important, 'cause we've got a lot of sports fans in this town. Touching the skin of a dead pig makes one unclean, Leviticus 11:7. If they promise to wear gloves can the Washington Redskins still play football? Can Notre Dame? Can West Point? Does the whole town really have to be together to stone my brother John for planting different crops side-by-side? Can I burn my mother in a small family gathering for wearing garments made from two different threads? Think about those questions, would you."

Ms. Beverly Hills herself has undoubtedly violated one of the myriad prohibitions of the Bible sanctioned by death , is she talking out against herself? Beauty is only skin deep, but crazy goes to the core.

So, when New Age Christians say the Old Testament is invalid....what is their rationale for it even being included in their "Holy Bible"? I honestly don't get that leap.

Literalists like this girl, usually zero in on whatever part of Leviticus supports their political agenda, and then ignore the rest. There are so many complicated laws and restrictions regarding ritual purity in that book that most Christians are bound to be in violation of one or more of them at any given time. Hmmmm....I wonder if she observes all the dietary laws, and purity restrictions to the letter? If not, according to her logic she should be stoned to death!

beauty queens are always so deep and profound. I always

Yes, and the Bible is black and white about you need to leave town every time you have your period.

The bible was written by men. God is a made up to make us feel better. My worldview is far more just without a God then hers is with one. ironic.

How To Talk To A Beauty Queen (If You Really Have To):

Avoid such topics as politics, religion & mythology and the emergence of humanistic sensibilities in Early Italian Renaissance art.

Stick with ending world hunger, breast implants, eating and personality disorders and possibly how to dress a moose.

I am personally sick of people using the bible as a means for their hatred. I read the bible every day, and know it quite well. Any real Christian would never say that homosexuality is a sin that deserves death. First of all, we are not under the 600+ laws of Moses any more, we are under grace. The only law of God valid in the new testament is the 10 commandments. And secondly, homosexuality is NOT in the list of sins pertaining to the second death in the book of revelation.

As a 28 year old Catholic. I think for myself. Not through what a bible tells me.
I have studied the Torah, the Tanakh and the Bible as mere pieces of literature, used to entertain.
These books like any are meant to be interpreted. Just because someone (contextualist) takes the bible word for word, doesn't mean Christians as a whole are unjust and evil. By implying that those who do so are just as unjust and evil.

I do not care who sleeps with who--male or female. I believe what make people good people are their morals. It is not immoral to go to bed with a man. One might find it weird, but that doesn't make it wrong. I eat Ketchup on my eggs. Some find that weird. Whatever. They don't hate me for it.

We need to stop, forcefully hating because of what we feel is different. Marriage in the conventional sense is between man and woman. That doesn't mean I deprive same sex couples their right to happiness. So please don't speak that all Catholic-Christians feel this way. Some us want to simply preserve the sacrament of marriage. Not to exclude others happiness.

I'm sorry clinickid, but you are dead wrong on this subject.

You are contradicting yourself since to interpret the bible you must take the context of the passage, and read it word for word, then imply the greater meaning from reading other passages

Answer me this then, if it is the morals of a person that makes them good, did not Christ himself say no one is good except the Father? Morals unlike what most of society says today are NOT RELATIVE. Just because you think something is right, does not make it so.

If I it is OK to murder my neighbor because he looked at me funny and in my mind it is right, am I not being a moral person based on your thought process? There are laws, and these laws of the land specify murder, or manslaughter is a crime, therefore my morals contradict the law.

Sin, as defined by the bible is "transgression of the law".
I put it to you that as the bible says a man lying with a man, or woman with a woman (inferred in other passages) is the law, as defined by the bible (God's word). It is sin to break the law, and thus it is not a moral act to be homosexual.

Keep the law, and not hate others for their sins, rather love your neighbor, in-spite of sin. Lauren Ashley was absolutely CORRECT, not ignorant, it is apparent that she truly understands: God knows better.

if you choose to read the bible literally (at least the old testament) few of us would not have been stoned to death. What makes me laugh wholeheartedly is the only thing "Christians" have to denigrate homosexuals is my bible. I rarely quote their bible when arguing against the death penalty even though their savior clearly had a stance on the death penalty ( he stopped it in the public square "let he without sin....) had no stance on abortion ( you bet it was an issue then that the NT bible didn't address) and had not word one to say about gays - so Christians obviously have their priorities seriously screwed up - Jesus their lord and savior that died for their sins thinks capital punishment is important and gays and abortion are not worth speaking about. Convenient that they ignore this fact.

Marriage was originally about the transferring of title and property, nothing more. If you take my daughter I'll give you a bag of gold as well.

There is nothing sacred about an institution when you're allowed to marry and divorce over and over until you finally get it right. It is a civil matter and only religious in nature if you believe in that sort of thing.

It's always interesting to hear people's views who are against same-sex marriage. It, strangely, always seems to come from people who will never be doing it, so really, their opinion is irrelevant. it's also always charming that they think it's OK that we should at least be "allowed" to be happy. Very generous of you.
