McCain Ties Opponent To Birther Queen Orly Taitz (VIDEO)

Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.) seems to believe that while Arizona Republicans want a die-hard conservative as their Senate candidate in 2010, there is a limit to the craziness they will tolerate.

The senator's re-election campaign put out a new web video on Wednesday, tying his primary challenger, former Rep. J.D. Hayworth, to birther queen and king Orly Taitz and Phil Berg -- each of whom have been featured (either in person or in audio clip) on Hayworth's radio show.

"These are serious economic times. Yet some are consumed by conspiracies," the ad flashes, before showing clips of Taitz and Berg each questioning Obama's American citizenship. "The only difference between these people? Only one is running for the U.S. Senate."

WATCH:

Hayworth has himself meddled in the birther movement, raising questions about Obama's birth certificate and justifying them by insisting that the country is in an "age of identity theft." But it is not something that he champions prominently -- in fact, he's practically begged those who have interviewed him recently to move on from the issue.

McCain isn't willing to cut him any slack, clearly sensing that even the conservative base in his state is troubled by the conspiracy theory crowd. And yet, it could be a risky gamble. On Wednesday, nearly half the Arizona state House approved a measure that would require presidential candidates who want to appear on the ballot in Arizona to show their birth certificate to state officials before running.

McCain's had pretty good experience spotting birthers. There were a bunch of 'em that came out to his rallies to see his running buddy.

BTW, as for the line from the article, "Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.) seems to believe that while Arizona Republicans want a die-hard conservative as their Senate candidate in 2010, there is a limit to the craziness they will tolerate," McCain just thought  Read More...

This is so funny. When McCain was running for president he and his sidekick, THE MOOSE ONE'', both questioned OBAMA'S birth rights.

*********Obama's father was a British subject at the time of his birth. That is set in concrete. Absolute fact.

Rep. John A. Bingham commenting on Section 1992 said it means “every human being born within the jurisdiction of the United States of parents not owing allegiance to any foreign sovereignty is, in the language of your Constitution itself, a natural born citizen.” (Cong. Globe, 39th, 1st Sess., 1291 (1866))

Thomas Jefferson
“Therefore, we can say with confidence that a natural-born citizen of the United States means those persons born whose father the United States already has an established jurisdiction over, i.e., born to father’s who are themselves citizens of the United States.” A person who had been born under a double allegiance cannot be said to be a natural-born citizen of the United States because such status is not recognized.

Article II section I of the constitution:
No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States.

McCain and other wingnuts seem destined to be tied together. And since they nearly always attach themselves to large chunks of concrete (metaphorical) , it is hard to keep from shouting "Jump" on a moving deck.

McCain called for party unity and announced that his opponent would be his running mate.

When asked, McCain responded "Oh wait a minute, I'm not running for president this time am I. Am I? Oh never mind."

The "logic" behind the ad McC's campaign has put together is utterly laughable! Isn't it the *job* of radio/tv hosts to present different points-of-view to further the dialogue?

Would Leno be branded "pro-McCain" because he's had JMc on as a guest? Would this site be branded "anti-Health Care Reform" because they've had articles *about* so-called 'death panels'? Or, for that matter, should HuffPo be painted with the 'birther brush' *because* it's had interviews/videos/discussions with folks who *are* 'birthers'? Isn't it the *job* of those in the media to 'air' [to the public] all manner of information in hopes of *educating* the electorate?

Whether (or not) McC's opponent has doubts about POTUSs citizenship --from birth in Hawaii!--, does NOT get 'proven' by the ad McC's campaign has put together. The 'logic' [premise] of the ad is a total FAIL...sadly, I have a feeling the McC campaign is counting on the electorate to be as devoid in the logic department as they, the electorate, are in the intelligence department.

Since the legislators won't accept a legal document which Obama has for his birth certificate, I wonder how they will get theirs validated? They refuse to accept his birth cert as being insufficient, so their will be suspect as well. Or they can do what segregationists used to do and simply say that NO birth cert he submits will pass muster.

"Good Thing Arizona Has A Senator Standing UP for the People"? Who is that, John, because it isn't you.

Sad thing here is that McCain is right here, but it is just another desperate attempt to grasp at anything, just like he did when he picked Sarah Palin.

Arizonians, vote Democratic.
