San Francisco On Track With 10-Year Homeless Plan

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom said the city is well on its way toward finding permanent housing for thousands of homeless people, MercuryNews.com reports.

City officials have a 10-year plan to house 3,000 people by 2014, and Newsom said Wednesday that the city has found housing for 1,679 so far. San Francisco spends about $188 million annually on services for the homeless.
